I'm super excited for this game. Don't have a next gen console, but just preordered it for Xbox 360.
Anyone else excited about it?

I've been wanting this game since I first saw trailers for it. I only plan on getting it whenever I get an Xbox One though.

It looks pretty good, but I won't play it much. I'm not a big fan of god games, and this is pretty much what it is IMO, but in a GTA-style open world where you can do everything you want and control the city. That's just me though, I don't like having too much power in my hands unless I earned it, but I can definitely see why it's appealing for most people and I'll most likely watch Let's Plays of it, or friends playing this game.

Really looking forward to this game.Probably going to get it for PC when it comes out. I haven't decided which next gen console I'm going to get but I'm not liking the Xbox One,even though I have a 360 currently. Might get a PS4, plus I can use my Logitech G27 on that to play some Gran Turismo.

I'm stoked for it, especially the unique citizens and their profiles. The way Ubisoft revealed the feature made it seem like there are unique citizens with constant names and appropriate feelings towards the player based off of individual actions with them. I'm sure that isn't the case, however, seeing as it would take so much memory to save the status of hundreds of thousands of people, but even if the crowd acts as a unanimous blob with similar beliefs towards the player based off of his/her actions, I'm still content with the detail put into play with a system like that where names are still in play. The driving mechanics look good to me, though people in the comments of gameplay trailers claim it looks arcadish, so we'll see how that plays out, though I'd still argue it looks like a highlight to me. There is of course the big concept of the game, the hacking into the ctOS, and that looks like it will be the long awaited return of knowledge-based gaming. For too long games like GTA and CoD have encouraged everyone to start on an equal playing field, even if some are far better than other, so I'm glad a game that looks as though it encourages smart play is finally here. The game looks very intricate and complex, and I love how the mechanics of a system like that doesn't seem to encourage a mindless tactic while playing. Now players get to use their brain to get ahead and not there joystick coordination, and that is what really sets this game apart for me; the fact that learning your character's capabilities and limits are what excels your skill. I'm going to predict it being the game of the year for 2014, but just to make sure I'm right I'll definitely be getting it for the PS4 on release.

I missed this thread before creating a new one myself, but fortunately stumped onto it now. I'll just paste here what I was going to post in the new thread. Here goes:
So I wanted to decide whether or not I should buy the game, and to see if it runs well enough on my rig, and so I got to play the leaked version of Watch Dogs. Sue me (please don't).
Now, while the city is beautiful, complex and very big, (about 3 times of LS is my guess) and you can even switch to inside-the-car view while driving, the driving model itself is so terrible this game has no racing potential in my opinion. It's just the classic messed up driving we're used to seeing in open world games that don't focus on cars as much as GTA does. Think Just Cause 2 meets Sleeping dogs. So even if Ubi does make some kind of racing into the game's online part, I don't see it as ever being a desirable aspect of the game. Unless some big patch which would rework driving completely comes, which I think isn't even within the realms of possibility. The only game I know that pulled this kind of change is APB, since its launch driving was completely horrendous and the game had to undergo a complete overhaul in many aspects to be even playable.
It's a shame, really. I, same as many other people, predicted this bad kind of driving model since the first gameplay trailer. Ubi should have listened to people's cries. Now it's done and it's too late.
What do you guys think? Is this a gamebreaker for you? I think I'll be buying the game anyway, since the rest of the game is pretty good (especially if you like Assassin's Creed, which I myself am not very keen on) and it runs reasonably well on my PC (i5 2550K, GTX 560Ti, 8GB RAM).
---
So yeah, as I said alfislegent, the driving is pretty terrible. I expect it to be more of an annoyance during online gameplay, rather than a way to outplay your opponent with skill during a chase, like it is in GTA. I only played it with keyboard, but I don't expect it to be any better with the controller.

I noticed that too and it bothered me in the beginning but now I don't really care. Never intended to race in that game anyways, I'll leave that for GTA only.

Not really gonna get it for the driving aspect. Still not sure if I'll get it for PC or Xbox 360 I'd like to play with crew members if I can but I hate neglecting my PC (4770k, 750GB SSD, 32GB Ram, GTX 780 OC, Trips monitors) That is why I built it to play games badass!;P

I got it for PC because it was cheaper but it lags sometimes (i. e. very often). Had to turn the graphics down (still kinda lags) but graphics aren't everything and I've had fun with it so far.
To me it is more of a sandbox Deus Ex game with all the sneaking around, hacking stuff to your advantage, knocking people out, alert guards and all that.

I've clocked about 8 hours so far, and the online hacking contracts are by far the best part to me. Their replay value is great and the fact that you can choose your strategy makes it so much better. The driving has weird steering, but other than that it isn't bad in the slightest. I'd rate it about an 8.5/10.

I was listening to a gaming podcast and during the show they talked about watchdogs. Apparently the PC version uses way less HD space. I forget the exact numbers but I want to say the console versions are 8GB larger in file size. Probably a big reason why it lags. Also been hearing a lot of bad things about the game in general. Seems like this game was a major bust in terms of being next gen. I dont own it though so I reserve the right to change my mind when and if I do ever play the game.

I get weird lagging even on my high end gaming PC. Truth be told it's a really good game but there are plenty of really good games out there. They hide it's flaws in a mountain of content but honestly there seems to be nothing revolutionary about the game. If the mutliplayer were more seemless maybe yeah but as is it's pretty weak and the driving is no GTA for sure. It's a fun game with an interesting story and world but, unfortunately, it is for lack of a better description Assassins Creed gameplay with hacking and guns. I really can't wait to see GTA Online on PC because I think the graphics on a High End Gaming PC will really improve it This game looks ok but I still think Far Cry 3 looked better and Even Wolfenstien TNO looked better that WatchDogs IMO. This game to me feels very Sleeping Dogs and not in a good way (don't misunderstand I really like that game). The controls are clunky in some ways Like SD did Combat very well this does the Hacking very well. But when all the elements mix together they seem to fail, hacking, gun combat, driving. Hmmmmmm if you want a rating... 8/10

Okay, to tell you the truth... Watch Dogs is, to me, the biggest gaming upset since Duke Nukem Forever. I bought the game day 1, collector's edition, expecting something great and turns out they almost failed every aspect, every mechanic I believe should've been fully mastered by developers for years. It's like they tried too much not to be a GTA clone, and as a result it's a poor man's GTA. It's like having too much candy, in a way - You shove a thousand cool features down the player's throat and as a result, they're not really enjoyable when taken individually. So you take em as a whole but it's confusing and hard to digest. I mean, the driving is subpar, the physics are worse than in WWE games, the camera has issues, and the loading screens take you back to the Playstation 1 days. Also, the intro menu is even more psychedelic than Hotline Miami... How is all of that possible ? Also, that "every NPC looks different" feature... What a load of crap. I actually found three 99% similar NPCs in a row... On my first hour of gameplay ! And their dialogue repeats every 30 seconds, too. If you're doing a minigame, like the ridiculously easy Chess game that you can end in 10 minutes, you'll hear the same person talking about haemorrhoids or whatever ten times or so. Nothing that looks remotely realistic here. Add to that mix hilariously awkward NPCs like the anti-black extremist afro-American... I get that people felt hype for this game, I did too even if I wasn't impatient or anything. But I'd get it more if people were disappointed now that the game is out. I now lent this game to my brother, who doesn't enjoy it either, but at least I have an excuse not to play it. That's a 5,5/10 for me because I usually rate fairly. PS : everyone is either shouting "oooh !" or "aaah !" for some reason, when you pass by them a bit too fast, even on foot. That's the funniest part. (please don't hate me for my opinion, I respect yours, so respect mine )
