I'm planning to host a short championship (+- 5 races) in the start of 2018 and I would like to gauge the interest in such a thing. Please let me know if you have any good suggestions for classes/tracks/formats and feel free to tag people who you think might be interested. Could try the most common gt3 championship lol, formula c, or maybe some kind of event with the ginetta's

I'd be interested if it stays on the casual side and doesnt become super tryhard in a sense that people prioritise good results over having fun. And that people dont start shouting at each other after first corner aids because they're missing out on imaginary championship points. Etc etc. Thats why i enjoy silkfish's events.

I had a thought going around in the back of my mind for something like the American Cup. It would be the Ford GT vs the Corvette C7 on 5 american tracks. (COTA, Laguna Seca, Long Beach, Sonoma, and Watkins Glen) Don't know how balanced the cars are. Next time I'm online I'll check it out. Just an idea I had floating around. Would host it myself, but someone else could probably host it 10x better than myself

So the class that came to my mind as being very fun and pretty balanced is the gte class (where the ford gt and corvette c7 is in). There is also a guy that made some car testing for the gte class (on watkins glen and laguna seca; coincidence?) and they seem to be pretty close in terms of pace. Thats the video: Other rly fun classes are the "gt4s", "touring cars" or "group a" cars in my opinion. Im not rly sure how balanced those classes really are though, im not someone that has the amount of skill to allow judgement on that. Track combo would have to be tested, i think the first step is to figure out a class you wanna use.

Ginetta GT5's are fun as hell, and that way everyone is in the same car.

I initially wanted to host a GT3 league, but since that class is not very balanced, I'd rather pick something else. If I end up picking this class, I likely will not stick to just American tracks. That sounds like fun. Any ideas on which day of the week it'd take place? I would like to pick the day that suits the most people.

I'm still working on a championship idea but I'm just time poor thanks to behbe. I would however still go with the idea of tracks being hidden until the event so setups are organic and not downloaded from a forum somewhere, to avoid tryhard syndrome creeping in.
If nothing else, it promotes better driving because it forces drivers to innately understand the feedback through the wheel and what the car needs to get balanced.

Ok, so I'm looking at the Thrustmaster T150. That's apparently a great entry price wheel and I can get it for £130. New year present me thinks.
Anyone got this or had issues with it that would suggest that I shouldn't be getting one?
Edit: Why is my signature so big?
