I've been racing for almost a year with NODO, and my xb1 microphone was already broken back then (although I can hear others). It has never really bothered me until now, because starting to host events. Because I only have old controllers, I cannot plug in regular headphones / earphones, so I would like to know what other people use, and what they think is the best. I don't think I am ready to spend a lot of money on "high level hardware", but I would rather choose between a new xb1 mic or an adaptor which would let me plug something like apple earphones. On a side note, can someone confirm that this thread belongs on this board, and not the "general board" ?

The best option would be to get the microsoft mic adapter and a decent PC headset. This will be expensive tho... The cheapest option is probably to just get a standart xbone mic again. If u dont have Issues wearing it for a longer period of time its good enough.

Step 1: Go to your mom. Step 2: Ask her for a potato. Step 666: Attach the potato to a DisplayPort. Step 4: Plug it in your headphone jack port. Step 5: Connect to your xbox. Step 6: Your potato gives you the power to have incredable mic performance.

I often wear it anyway, and it doesn't really bother me, I'm more worried about the quality, because if no one can hear me properly it will be quite useless.

I cant stand the way the original xbone mic fits. Curently using TB XOnes didnt like that they are on ear not over ear at first and my next headset might be something over ear for pc and xb1. The XOnes are like 60 bucks i think?
