Track Day Masters
Season 1
Summary:
First of all, this season is meant to be a test season. Car balance might not be perfect, I have tried my best to select the right tracks and right cars. Also, there is a few concepts I wanted to try out for a while, so let's see how are those working out. The championship is supposed to be a bit less restrictive. If you sign up, please consider selecting the car you enjoy over the car that has a better chance to win.
General information:
- Organizer: Benimi
- Communication: Teamspeak3
- Rounds: 4
- Races per round: 2
- Race lengths: 30-35 minutes
- Weather: Current
- Time of Day: Noon
- Number of drivers: 24
- FPS Limit: 60
Car selection:
- [3/5] Alpha* - "The car with great flow." - Divait
- [2/5] Buffalo S - "Sounds good, doesn't work." - Trump MEME
- [1/5] Coquette* - "It drives great until there's a corner or a bump." - Michiski22
- [3/5] Drift Tampa - "Rectangle on wheels, handles exactly how it sounds." - doompenguin
- [4/5] Furore GT - "Dear <insert name here>, I have received a blessing from Kraff, and he has told me that the correct selection for you is: Furore GT. Kifflom!" - FriendlyBaronBot
- [3/5] Fusilade - "Can't spell Fusilade without lad." - Serenniel
- [3/5] Khamelion - "A mistake to drive." - DrKloden
- [4/5] Sultan* - "Like a cheap fake elegy." - firefly
*: Car is only allowed to run with the "Stock Spoiler".
Restrictions:
- No off road tires
- No liveries
- No spoiler on cars marked with "*"
- No wiggle boosting the Coquette
- The primary, the secondary and the pearlescent has to be the same for every member of the team, if you wanna differentiate the drivers, use wheel or neon colours.
Qualifying:
For every round, the day before the races. We are going to hold a qualifying event.
- Race type: GTA (Contact)
- Length: 30 minutes
- Max amount of (flying) laps: 10
- Weather: Current
- Spectator: www.twitch.tv/beta1hit
Format: We host up the track and set it to 12 laps. On the first lap, everybody lines up close to the pits at a pre-selected location. The pits will open at 2:00 on the race timer. The pits will close at 32:00 on the race timer (you can finish the laps started before the 32:00 mark). You can go out at any point after the 2:00 minute mark. Getting clean air is going to be your task. When you enter the last lap or if the race timer already hit 32 minutes after the end of your lap, you have to return to the pits. We will finish the race after everyone has made it to the pits, so that we can see the results.
IMPORTANT: There is a limited number of laps. The qualifying will not end with everyone still on the track after 30 minutes. You are not allowed to hold someone up*, if you are not on a flying lap yourself. If there is enough proof of someone violating this rule, then he will be DQ from qualifying.
Points: Drivers with the top 5 lap times in qualifying will earn points for the championship.
- 1st: 5pt
- 2nd: 4pt
- 3rd: 3pt
- 4th: 2pt
- 5th: 1pt
*: When you are not on a flying lap (crashed before, coming up, going in to the pit, etc), it is your responsibility to get out of the way of the other drivers, and you do NOT effect their flying lap. If you are on a flying lap, but you mess up and crash, and the driver behind you gets affected, does not count as holding them up, since you were on a flying lap as well. Same thing applies to when a faster car catches you on your flying lap. If they did not leave enough clean air for their flying lap, then it's their fault.
Opening race:
This is the first race out of two for that round. The Opening race is 1 lap shorter than the Main race for that round. Race length is aiming to be between 30 and 35 minutes.
Grid: Top 10 drivers in terms of qualifying results will be reversed (10th start on pole, 9th starts 2nd, ... , 1st start 10th). From 11th place onward the starting positions will be the same as the qualifying results.
Points: The top 10 finishers of the Opening race are going to earn points for the championship.
- 1st: 20
- 2nd: 15
- 3rd: 12
- 4th: 10
- 5th: 8
- 6th: 6
- 7th: 4
- 8th: 3
- 9th: 2
- 10th: 1
Main race:
This is second race of two for that round. The Main race is 1 lap longer than the Opening race of the round.
Race length is aiming to be between 30 and 35 minutes.
Grid: The qualifying results
Points: The top 10 finishers of the Main race are going to earn points for the championship.
- 1st: 25
- 2nd: 18
- 3rd: 15
- 4th: 12
- 5th: 10
- 6th: 8
- 7th: 6
- 8th: 4
- 9th: 2
- 10th: 1
Driver championship:
Every point scored during the qualifying and the races are going to count towards the drivers championship. No White Card system, no dropping of lowest scores.
Team championship:
A team has to have a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 3 drivers (No drivers are allowed to run without a team). Every point scored during the qualifying and races are going count towards the team championship, if the team has 1 or 2 drivers. If a team has 3 drivers, only the top 2 are going to count. Every driver of the same team has to drive the same car.
Manufacturer championship:
The top 2 scores on every qualifying and races are going to count towards the manufacturer of the car in the manufacturer championship.
Atomic Tire Trophy:
The goal of "Atomic Tire Trophy" championship to give drivers with slower car or drivers with not the best result in the bast a chance to win something. Every driver who signs up with a team of only 1 driver, or with a Buffalo S/Fusilade/Sultan, is going to be a candidate to be in the "Atomic Tire Trophy" championship. If you won a championship in the past, and sign up with one of the cars which isn't on the list, you are not going to be able to join the independent championship. For every race (no qualifying), the Trophy drivers are going to score points, where the non-Trophy driver are invisible.
Example the best Trophy driver finishes 3rd over all, (s)he gets the point for 1st. If there are 3 non-Trophy drivers behind before the next Trophy driver, that Trophy driver gets the points for 2nd (finished 7th over all).
Points:
- 1st: 10
- 2nd: 8
- 3rd: 6
- 4th: 5
- 5th: 4
- 6th: 3
- 7th: 2
- 8th: 1
Sign ups:
Every driver needs to sign up with their top 3 car choices, and preferable teammates. Sign ups are going to be updated 48h after the signups are open, and every 24h hour after that, until it reaches the limit for the event. The signups from the last 24 hours will be selected according to the involvement in events and in the crew in general.
When the participation list is full, the car accommodations going to be revealed for each driver. Teams will be formed after that.
Drivers are required to have done one of the following:
- Attended the Weekday Playlist for 10+ days
- Attended the Welcome Playlist for 2 days (over 2 weeks)
- Participated in at least 1 Endurance Event without receiving any warnings.
Sponsors:
Every team has to select a sponsor. Teams are only allowed to run in-game companies, with 2 exceptions (if you don't know the 2nd next to EMDT, you are not in this crew for long enough). Teams are allowed to run with the selected car's manufacturer as a sponsor. If 2 teams with the same car has a colour scheme too similar to another one, then one of the teams will have to switch to a different sponsor or use an alternate colour scheme.
Reserve drivers:
You can sign up as a reserve driver. Participants of the event can select their own reserve driver, by the approval of the event host, to do the qualifying or the races for her/him. Reserve drivers can score point in the team championship and the manufacturer championship, but not the driver championship or the Atomic Tire Trophy.

Start of a race:
The pole sitter for each race can choose which side he/she wants to start from, the race will start on stickies after an announced time.
Restarts:
If there is an incident involving more than 3 cars after the start during the first sequence of turns, then we are going to restart the race. If a restart is called, everybody needs to go back to the start-finish straight, and we do the whole griding procedure from the start.
After the second restart, we'll have a low pace first lap, where overtaking is not permitted.
Pits:
No mandatory pits during any of the races. The pits are going to be open, so if your car need to be repaired, you need to take a pit stop. You are only allowed to re-spawn if that's the only way to get back on to the track.

FAQ:
Q: What is the fastest car?
A: Four different cars reached the fastest lap on each different track, and a 5th different car, which has the best average position. For more details see the first post of the thread.
Q: With this point system, won't half of the field finish with 0 points?
A: This point systems has proved itself in multiple championships. A point system has a lot of mathematics going into it, and I have no time or energy to make one just for this event. If you feel like you are not going to score points, consider signing up for the Trophy, with a stronger car.
Q: What happened with the result of the poll?
A: None of the results reached the point where it would guarantee an almost full sign up list, so I selected the dates which were more convenient for my helpers and myself.
