Haven't bought it, seen quite a few questionable mechanics added or changed from previous Forzas.
Mostly posting to keep tab on this thread in case they actually update things to be less crap.

I think I'm going to get it sometime this coming week. There are a few addictions I quite like that they added. The homologation is very interesting, and although I don't like the fact that it's all that races are based on now, it should help make for some better matched races and keep people from having anything too crazy and undrivable. The addition of dynamic weather is nice, maybe not the greatest weather system but its something.
The car collecting is questionable, I'll have to experience it to see if I like it or not.
I like the addition of loot crates as a way to get random cars and other things.
The fact that you can tune cars while races load is amazing and something that I will probably use quite a bit.
The return of suzuka and mugello is great as they are some of my favorite tracks to drive each with a reallt good flow to them. The dubai track is like any of the other fictional track, a graphics showcase designed by someone with minimal track design knowledge making overtakes quite difficult.
Beyond that I'm not sure what else has been added/changed

Beyond that I'm not sure what else has been added/changed I agree that homologation does make cars more balanced, which is why I like it, but it also makes car upgrading and tuning quite tedious now. The car collecting system is okay imo. I'm not against it, but I'm not a fan of it either. The problem is, though, it highly encourages mass car collecting but at the same time this game doesn't have the favorite car feature like in Forza Horizon 3 (which is probably one of the best thing in that game now thinking about it). Another great feature I like is that they've now added engine limiters, at least for some cars, so that some cars that weren't used to be able to race in some classes due to the exceeding PI (like One:1 can't be races with the hypercar series in Forza 6 -- even though I haven't checked yet if it does have a limiter in Forza 7) are now usable.

I hadn't heard of that being added before, depending on how you add those limiters it could be quite useful I think.

Homolgomation sucks ass makes upgrading pointless.
Graphics are garbage (just look at the trees on any map looks like some early 2000s stuff)
The loot boxes are mostly a rip off. The chance to lose cr is high because you pay 100-300k and usually end up with some 30k car
Grinding games as a service mechanic all games do these days and freemium mechanics in a forza game is sickening.
And the VIP deciet

And the VIP deciet Well I don't agree with the homologation part. It makes upgrading much harder, but I don't see how it's pointless. Graphics do suck ass on XB1(s) tho... And the VIP...

Digging a bit deeper with my shovel here.... Been playing Forza 7 on and off since release. It's quite fun. To address some points made earlier up in the thread: VIP has been changed after public outrage. Not sure it needed changing but it's back to being a permanent income modifier now. Homologation is a fine mechanic, honestly. It brings variances in divisions closer together, meaning cars won't have widly differing statistics. It does by no means replace manual upgrading. Honestly, the auto homologation the game does for you often is rather subpar. All cars either have room up in PI with stock upgrades fitted or can fit a homologation plate in the engine upgrade section to lower the engine power and allow more diverse upgrades that way. Even with homologation, you can make cars different enough that they'll struggle against other builds on specific tracks (think homestead speedway). And if you want to upgrade a honda civic to S800, you can still do that and play it in the online lobby for that. Graphics are fine and performance is good, too. The game had large technical issues on PC at launch, but most of them have been ironed out now. The game is a bit weak in terms of lighting and final composition/tone mapping, but overall it stands up well to the its rival, GT Sport. The games have a different focus when it comes to what to throw computing power at, but overal fidelity is quite similar. For more information on the technical side of Forza 7 AND GT Sport, check out the Youtube video by Digitalfoundry: click me!Collector tier is largely irrelevant. If you really want to, you can get to tier 5 in a single evening and every tier past that doesn't do anything other than inflate the number next to your name. Loot boxes are basically entirely pointless. Until you're at the point where you don't know what to do with your credits anymore, there really isn't any point in getting any. All they do is make some very few cars and driving suits harder to acquire than others. I'm not at the point where I feel I've been missing out on any content at all because it's "locked away behind lootboxes". Overall it's quite fun and especially upgrading and tuning cars to fit my driving style is a pretty good time. Online racing is good, too. Much better netcode than GTA for example. Only issue is that at least the Breakout Hopper S Class (where the only restriction is a PI of S800), is filled with a large amount of terrible rammers. Other hoppers are better and leagues will come soon, let's see what that does.

Bought it on sale. Doesnt get the love it deserves because of its issues and windows store sh*t. If only Turn10 could make this game LIGHTER*** and more STABLE, and add it to steam...
***Runs fine on my potato i3 / 8GRAM / 970, it just stutters like hell in menus.
Best GTA esq racing game for me, because i like controllah and hate wheels without a complete setup (base, chair, triple monitors etc)
Pros
Huge collection of cars Tons of upgrade options, especially considering the number of ingame cars Nice controllah feeling, Trigger Vibration if you heff X1 Controller Best CocKpit Camera ever (the one the wheel is not visible) for peasant controllah 23" monitor racer Descent Campaign Non Contact Option in Online (Hatchbacks only tho) Ideal balance sim-arcade Nice FIFA 18 like Interface and Bonus stuff (nice stuff, not the fifa sh*t) Smooth chase camera moving when driving (with camera speed effects OFF OF COURSE) Ez money to buy cars
Cons
You heff to do magic to make game stable on pc. Managed to do it, dont know for how long. No depth in track list, all top nice ones are there tho
