Track Showcase:
(The above showcase does not use either of the vehicles that will be used in the event. Please practice the track with the designated vehicles before the event to get familiar with the racing line, braking points, the pit lane, etc.)
Event Format:
The event will be run in three different stages: Qualifying, heat races, and a final race. All races take place on the same track.
Qualifying: A short qualifying session using the main vehicle will be held to determine the starting order for the 3 heat races. The qualifying session consists of a 3-lap non-contact session on the track, and the fastest lap from each driver will determine the starting grid.
Heat Races: 3 heat races, each 10 minutes in length, will be held after qualifying. Points earned during the heats--see points section--will be used to determine the starting order of the final race.
The starting grid for each of the three heat races is setup in the following manner:
- Race 1: Participants are gridded based on qualifying time, faster drivers placed closer to the front
- Race 2: Participants in odd-numbered qualifying spots start before those in even-numbered qualifying spots (Thus, in a 10-car field, the first 5 drivers on the grid are the drivers that qualified 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th.)
- Race 3: Participants in even-numbered qualifying spots start before those in odd-numbered qualifying spots.
- The pole-sitter may choose to swap the grids for races 2 and 3 if they wish.
Final: The final is a 20-minute race. Points earned in this race are doubled. The starting grid is set by points accumulated in the previous three heat races--more points are better. Tie-breakers in points are resolved by qualifying position.
Joker Vehicle: The "Joker" vehicle is a special vehicle that is faster than the main vehicle. The "Joker" vehicle may be used in one of the four races. Participants do not have to declare beforehand which race they intend to use the Joker vehicle in. If a participant opts to use the Joker vehicle in the final, they will start from the back and be held for five seconds.
The winner of the cup is the driver with the most points after the end of the final. Tie-breakers in points are resolved by qualifying position.

Start Procedure:
The start procedure for each race will be a standing sticky start. Drivers will be directed to line up on the starting grid based on their qualifying spot. A starting time--say 1:00.00--will be announced. Sticky bombs will be detonated sometime after this announced time. The race starts as soon as the first sticky bomb goes off.
Pitting:
Participants must pit once during each race. Participants should call out their pits. Pitting is not allowed during the first or last laps of any race. Please be careful not to impede the progress of others when entering or exiting the pit road. Participants who fail to pit during a race forfeit any points earned during that race.
Racing Rules:
Racing Etiquette: This event uses standard NODO racing rules. Drivers are advised to exercise caution during each of the 4 races, as they will frequently be in close-quarters around other drivers, some of whom will be driving faster cars than others.
Driving Restrictions: Wall-boosting and suspension-swerving are explicitly forbidden. Curb-boosting is allowed, but curb-surfing--the act of obtaining more than one curb boost from a curb in a single straight--is forbidden. Track limits will be specified in a post sometime shortly before the event start. Participants must comply with track limits for qualifying and all races in the event.
FPS Rule: Mandatory 60 FPS limit for all drivers.
Blue Flag: Lead lap drivers may issue the blue flag to other drivers they are about to lap. Upon receiving the blue flag, participants should within a reasonable period of time yield the racing line to the driver(s) about to lap them.

Penalties:
Penalties may be applied during or after the event--usually after--for failure to follow the rules. Participants may send race footage to the event host if desired for review. Penalties for infractions include, but are not limited to, time penalties, forfeiture of points, or disqualification from the event and referral to a commissioner for additional disciplinary action.
Participation:
Participants must be members of NODO and meet event eligibility requirements to sign-up. Priority may be given to certain participants over others (usually those with more experience in the crew) at the discretion of the event host.
Sign-ups are limited to 27 drivers. Participants may sign up as reserves if they wish, in which case non-reserve drivers will be prioritized over reserves.

Joining Mid-Event:
If you miss the start of the event you can still join in midway through. Participants who join mid-event start at the back for all heat races they participate in, and just like other participants may use the joker vehicle once over the course of the event.
Non-Driving Roles:
Participants may opt to take an officiating or spectating role instead of a driving role in this event:
Pit Watcher: The pit-watcher records drivers taking their pits to ensure everyone follows pit procedure.
Race Official: The race official assists in necessary procedures to keep the event moving, such as gridding drivers, deploying stickies, and keeping track of points throughout the event.
Cameraman: The cameraman role is for people who like looking at carscrash into race each other on the race track. Capture some pretty sights from the event, it'll look cool later.
