Since Heists I've usually done missions in the Kuruma. But for the past few weeks (after FINALLY getting all the research unlocked from Gunrunning), I've been trying out some of the new vehicles, and I gotta admit I'm liking the Tampa.
When fighting mission ai's the Kuruma does have advantages such that your practically invincible, and it is a cheaper car. However you are limited in range only being able to use small firearms, and you do still expend ammo cost using it. This isn't so much a issue until you hit missions where you need to start tossing bombs. Kuruma also has the disadvantage that you need to physically exit the car to toss a sticky or fire a rocket.
The Tampa you have to be careful with, the front and driver side seems to have some level of armor but you can most certainly still die, the passenger side window is fully exposed, the rare seems to be the most heavily armored but it's still not 100%. However, I'm finding that while less armored then the Kuruma, the Tampa does offer enough to get you though a job. And if you have it fully equip the dual machine guns will usually kill your enemies before they kill you, it has rockets built in for if you need to take out any target vehicles, mines for if your being chased. It really is great. I can go through a lot of missions and end up not spending a dime in ammo due to this thing having pretty much everything.
Neither vehicle is really worth a whole lot in free mode, so that's why I focused this on missions.

I'm using the Tampa a lot in free-roam missions. Problem being that I get bored from just driving around there all the time (especially on the highway) and make some stuff that ends up with the Tampa being blown up way to often.
The Kuruma on the other end is a vehicle I avoided for quite some time due to it's op-ness. That was when I enjoyed it more to play missions without tricks. Nowadays everything is so dated I care more about efficiency. Still the Tampa is more fun, as long as I don't kill myself.

Yea I did that once as well, I blew up the van in Crank Up The Volume. Though the machine guns can get pretty effective when your used to them. Plus funny enough the guns are just high enough to go though the Kuruma windows.
Just a funny thing I noticed, honestly I didn't think it would work and I'd blow the car up but I was wrong.

That's pretty great. I remember back when I was playing in public lobbies with randoms. I never went up against Kuruma griefers because I didn't want to pay for their stupid car. On the other hand I'm not sure you can pull off this shot when they are actually moving.

It depends if you can hit the back lower corner of the window. Seems like the glass can't hold out against the dual miniguns. Still hitting such a small spot on the move won't be easy.

Kuruma: great defense against bullets but limited use of weapons. Tampa: minigun mayhem but very weak against bullets. Both weak against rockets and bombs.
The choice depends on the battle, to be honest.

In situations where you’re OK with dying, go for the Tampon.
When dying is not an option, go for the Karuma.
If you have a second player to tag along, either APC or Insurgent.

if i could, for whatever reason, only keep one of my non-racing cars, it would be the Armored Kuruma for sure.

Generally I'd say go for the Tampa if you can afford it, since it's serious lack of bullet resistance is barely an issue if your enemies can get off two shots at most before being dual minigunned to shreds. The missiles are kinda useless since they don't home and can only fire forwards, and in my experience are reasonably likely to hit a small bump in the road two feet away from the car, blowing it up in the process. When doing VIP missions, such as Headhunter, the Tampa is a godsend as the AIs don't use explosive weapons at all and the miniguns will blow up the armoured Baller and Cognoscenti in a relatively short amount of time; in this situation it's way more efficient than using an armoured Kuruma or the Duke o'Death, since the latter require you to park your car in front of the AIs and then use hendguns to kill them (surprisingly enough, despite the Duke's non-bulletproof hole in the front window, they hardly ever did me any damage). These days, however, you may find that for some usecases the Deluxo, with it's missiles and ability to fly, is more efficient.

I only use these cars in heists and supply missions, where not dying is a priority, so Kuruma all the way, supported by Insurgent for missions with helicopters shooting rockets at us.

For missions I'd prefer Kuruma. It's fun to drive, and as you stated it's almost invincible to normal guns. PvP obviously Tampa would beat the shit out of it.

I would say Kuruma all the way. And if the mission does not require an armored vehicle, then get yourself an ubermacht. It's the fastest 4 doors so you can ride together with your heist crew.

I much prefer the handling of the Kuruma, but both cars are good. If possible get both, and just use one depending on the scenario?
