⚫ First download the drivers for your steering wheel and pedals via google search and install. To make sure that my computer recognized the setup, I typed "Control Panel" in the Windows search bar after I installed my drivers and used that to confirm that my wheel was detected. ⚫ Now that your steering wheel is being recognized by your machine, you have to install a program called "x360ce" (Download link: www.github.com/x360ce/x360ce#download download 64 bit) After installing, refer to this imgur album for help on how to get x360ce to recognize your wheel and get the correct settings for GTAV: imgur.com/a/mg5g5 (x360ce.exe has to be in GTAV directory!)
⚫ Ok, now that your wheel has been detected by x360ce and two files called "x360ce.ini" & "xinput1_3.dll" have been created in the GTAV directory ( imgur.com/yr3N4B3.png ) you can open x360ce_x64.exe from the GTAV directory and configure your buttons to whichever you like. Here you can see I've bound the "A Button" to "Button 6" using the "Record" -function: imgur.com/9HexkOf.png (Button 6 being the A Button on my wheel) Moving on to configuring your wheel for use in GTAV / Online, follow this imgur album to do so: imgur.com/a/dZ0fQ
⚫ Alright your wheel has been configured for optimal use in GTAV now all you have to do to get the wheel working in GTAV / Online is to execute "x360ce_x64.exe" from GTAV directory before launching the game and then close the application. If, when closing the application, x360ce asks "Do you want to save changed made to configuration?", click "Yes" and then start up GTAV.
⚫ Once in-game you might come across issues with walking and rotating your car in mid-air. For this I've come up with a solution and bound 2 buttons on my wheel to make the Left stick go up and down ("Stick Axis Y") Also for some wheels including mine, I had to change a lever at the base of the wheel from "PS4 to "PS3" mode for it to work in any game. imgur.com/rhYIvN1.jpg
This tutorial by Fullmetal1212 on the FiveM forums worked for me perfectly.
You basically just have to do the exact same procedure as for GTA Online, but you have to change xinput1_3.dll into xinput1_4.dll and your wheel will work in FiveM.
