That lap from Lewis was something else. He now has to watch Vettel behind him and Max to his left off the grid - I can see a HAM/VER collision at Turn 1 as a likely outcome. Everything went fine. Great race for both Lewis and Max. WTF Perez

Good news everyone; Daniil Kyvat returns to Toro Rosso, again again, for 2019.
The meme economy will enjoy the injection of torpedo memes from this Russian driver.

I for one am more excited for Kyvat demotions. Means more Verstappen wins. Fun fact: Kvyat got promoted(for the seat next year) and Max got 3-place grid penalty and 2 penalty points for his super license for ignoring yellow flags

Looking at posts around social media Mercedes might have lost some fans today. Feels shit but it was right thing to do to secure drivers championship to HAM. Max was definitely driver of the day, he's groving bigger and bigger.

No, Mercedes have been fighting dirty for a while now for the win and it's worth it to them, I'm sure. But fuck those guys, seriously.

Team orders have been part of F1 since the beginning, so accept it or go watching curling. I hate mercedes in general since I'm a Ferrari fan, but I can respect the reasoning. Didn't HAM give Bottas a win last year after he had to give it to HAM ?
I dont want to drag politics into this, but I was real happy to see Vettel not shake putin's hand after the race in the drivers room. Fuck putin.

Last year Lewis asked on team radio if Valtteri could let him pass so he could try to catch Kimi. He didn't succeed and they changed places back like he promised when asking. Niki Lauda was mad about that. This year Lewis asked if Valtteri could go a little faster cause Seb was catching up on him but Toto Wolff decided otherwise.

Problem is not team orders, reasoning was ok. But the fact that they didn't switch back at the end. Bottas had every right to win. But no, somehow 43pts vs 50pts difference with vettel is more important than 2nd drivers win. I mean Mercedes had 43pts in the bag anyways. If Ham is such a good driver, it would be no problem keeping this 43pt lead over 5 races.

That makes as much sense as telling someone who disagrees with America to leave America and move somewhere else. It may be a thing but I.M.O. it ruins the racing too much for the fans. There's a point where compromising the outcome of races for an even larger championship lead just makes the rest of the season uninteresting, when really we should have something as close to 2007 as we can get. Of course, this would be heresy for the teams, but it's great for the fans.

It's also not true, piguy3141. I started watching F1 as a kid in the 1980s. Seeing Senna and Prost battle, the idea that team orders are an immutable part of the sport is bullshit. It's never been popular with the fans, for good reason.

Thanks Crashtappen for being in the sport, would be boring without your questionable driving.

Vettel has lost it completely. I think that move was somewhat understandable as he needed to start picking up points against Hamilton and waiting behind Verstappen until the pits wouldn't have helped with that.
Its disappointing just how far away the mid tier teams are from the front runners. Its rare for them to even bother trying to defend for instance at the last Chicane lots of drivers left the inside free to give an easy overtake.
