Hello guys. It appears that thousands of GTA Online players have been banned for no reason after the last Super Sport update. I got banned as well, even though I've never made use of mods or glitches, and I've always been a respectful player. I received an email notifying the suspension on the 23rd of March, and I was totally surprised. My character's progress was also reset, deleting all my properties and accomplishments, and I will not be able to access GTA Online for a month. I contacted Rockstar support but only received a default answer, telling me that all bans are final and cannot be appealed, and my ticket was marked as closed. It looks like only PC players have been affected by the problem, as Rockstar seems to have added an anticheat code with the Tunables update of the Hotring Races, which probably made a lot of clean players look like modders to the ban algorythm. Some of the most famous YouTubers are starting to aknowledge the question, making some videos about it, and this big Reddit thread gives us all the informations and updates about the problem: www.reddit.com/r/gtaonline/comments/86q5lj/032318_gta_online_ban_wave_what_we_know_so_far/However, it has appeared that in the last few hours Rockstar has become aware of the issue and is now looking into it, as several players wrote about their experience with R* support, which seems to be now more open to this type of assistance requests. So hopefully we can get our accounts back in the next few days. Please let me know guys if any of you got affected by the same issue, so we can discuss it and exchange opinions about it. Update 03/27/2018: Still no response from Rockstar, but someone has started a petition about the issue. Here's the link if you want to join and help the cause: www.change.org/p/rsrg-help-free-the-unjustly-banned-gta-online-players?recruiter=253110241&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink&utm_campaign=share_petitionUpdate 03/27/2018: A lot of people are being unbanned, myself included as I've just received the notification from R* via email, but it appears that if you go online and open the game you'll get banned again! So if you have been banned and then unbanned, wait to go online until the situation establishes or you could be banned again!

What's funny is Rockstars anti-ban seemingly never bans modders and only the innocent.
I modded money a month or two ago (I assume that isn't taboo here given Broughys' pretty vocal stance on the issue) and I've gotten away with it through two ban waves now. I don't know how they are detecting mods but once again they've show their incompetence.

I've heard of many new players with even only 1-2 hours of playing time being banned, but instead tons of modders are still playing, as the claimed they hadn't been banned. Funny.

Meanwhile when I logged the day of the update I was given $1,350,000. After they took around 6 millions from me split over 2 updates because it apparently was "modded money" (even though I only play in glitched public solo sessions since almost a year now).
Their logic eludes me the more I try to think about it.

Because that's the money the gave at the and of February more or less, you got like 10-20% of what you spent in a certain span of days, if I'm correct. Anyway yes, their logic is pretty weird. Can I ask how do you glitch a public solo session?

I haven't logged prior, but I didn't buy anything during that time where they were given back 10% of the money spent anyway (and it was a maximum of 1 million if I recall correctly). That's why I was rather baffled to see some money handed to me like that, especially after they took so much of it from me in the past. As for the glitched public solo session, it's pretty easy really. Boot the game and get into an online lobby. Once you are, open your task manager and go to the performance tab. At the bottom of that tab window you should see an "Open resource monitor". Click on it, it'll open said monitor. Once opened, go to the network tab and you should see a GTAV.exe in the list. Right click on it, and choose to pause d the process. Wait exactly 8 seconds (less and it won't work, more and it'll disconnect you), and resume the process, et voila, everyone else in your lobby will suddenly disconnect, leaving you all by yourself to farm without being bothered by griefers. It sounds complicated like that, but in practice it takes only a few seconds, and it works almost 100% of the time.

Wait exactly 8 seconds in practice it takes only a few seconds heh... The suspend trick also gets you out of the cloud simulator (which is almost always due to failure in establishing a connection with all other players in the session)

Thank you for the explanation. Sometimes when you open task manager and you wait enough for being thrown out of the session for inactivity, when you get back it puts you in solo public session. But not 100% of the times.

I got caught up in the false ban wave of last year. I think it took 3 days tops to get my ban revoked and my character non-reset. The silence on Rockstar's end and the amount of time that's passed really makes me wonder what they're up to. It's obvious they are aware of the issue, but besides remove the tunables code, haven't done much of anything. Hope they up their game.

You make me keep a bit of my hopes. Anyway, I've been banned on friday the 23rd, and since then Rockstar has given neither communication nor assistance about the problem. That's an unacceptable behaviour from the company. I really hope they will sort this out.

Knowing Rockstar, they won't. Unless they really, really fuck up for the majority of players (like when the Albany Hermes was supposed to be free during christmas but players were still charged for it), they won't say a single thing on the issue. Worse, I'm pretty sure they'll close every thread talking about the issue on their forums and mark all support tickets about the issue as 'solved' even though they aren't.
Because that's how Rockstar rolls now.

I bought the free Hermes and I was charged for it, but a few days later R* made an announcement stating that all the people who were charged for it would have been refund, and so did happen. That was a good case of assistance from them. Since the ban issue already happened and they resolved it without making any announcement, which is anyway a shame, I keep on hoping that they will resolve the problem this time as well. I now there's no logic in their behavoiur, but I can't imagine that they didn't want to resolve this. It would go against them.

R* lifting PC bans as I type .. Good luck to anybody effected. Thanks! Yes fortunately I was unbanned too about 4 hours ago, I only received the email from Rockstar now. Anyway strangely I'm reading of a lot of people that opened the game after being unbanned, and guess what? They have been banned again! This is HILARIOUS. So I'm waiting to log in until the situation establishes, even if I've already received the email from R*.
