So I've been following Broughy for almost 2 years now. In that time I've developed a renewed interest in racing, and tried to put some of his advice and techniques to practice in my racing.
As a result, my racing has improved. I'm not great, by any means, but improved. Now I'm noticing that more often, I'm getting accused of modding or cheating due to my lap times or pulling ahead of the pack. In most cases my advantage comes from picking the right car for the track (thanks Broughy!), and the rest comes from improved racing lines.
Does anyone else in the community experience this?
More importantly; how do you respond?? I don't know what to say to make people feel better (not good at that sort of thing to begin with).

You reply with:
Pff, git gud scrub
After that, you move on with your life and leave the person who blamed you burning in anger. It's hilarious to do.

Stop racing randoms and start racing in racing crews. That way, you will get a challenge, be able to improve your pace and racecraft whilst not being accused of cheating/modding.
I assume you are on PC, so I'd suggest getting yourself verified and then join Discord (where PC guys are) along with the Project Homecoming FiveM server.

I'm being kicked out of random lobbies for ages. Now I'm being kicked of the NoDo Slack too. People just know that I'm way too OP.

I simply play them. Most random lobbies have "catchup" on so I just stay back and wait for the last lap to pull in 1st position. It's all timing. And it's more fun that way. But when I am accused, I'll just be as polite and honest as possible.

I really should join a crew, it's just that with 3 kids my schedule is inconsistent and unforgiving. Actually, I had something new happen recently. I won a Sports race as the only one with a Pariah (how do people not know about this car?!), and of course was accused of cheating. When I explained how OP the Pariah is, one player insisted that "rockstar had nerfed the Pariah", and therefore I was actually a modder. I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he was talking about the Viseris. Maybe? But then again, how would he know about that but not about the Pariah... I'm done. Going to find a motorcycle race to test out my new Gargoyle with a large-rim rear wheel...
