Car Selection
Just like other showdown events there are only a limited number of each vehicle, in this case 4 participants in each of 6 vehicles, with 3 participants in each of 2 vehicles. You need to sign up with an order of all eight cars, from most preferred to least. When I have all participants I'll assign everyone to their number one chosen car unless there are more choices than slots available, in which case I'll draw at random. Those who don't get their first choice car will be put into their next choice assuming there is space. This will continue until everyone is assigned a car. There is no guarantee you'll get your initial car of choice (unless you choose something unpopular) though usually everyone gets at least no worse than their second choice. Also feel free to sign up for a car you want to drive but don't own since we'll be able to swap/spawn at the start.
Qualification
There will be a 3 lap non-contact qualifying session before the race starts (ie. warm up lap -> 2 hot laps) where you will drive your chosen car. Your best lap time, alongside general knowledge/info about your relative ability, will determine the position you start on the grid in respect of the other people in the same car as you (this is all the details I'll give for now).
Mandatory Pit Stops
You must complete 2 pit stops during the race. They can be at any time you want after you've crossed the line to begin lap 3 and only require you to go through the pit lane (so no stopping and waiting). Failure to complete 2 pit stops will result in disqualification from the overall classification. Video proof will be required of each pit stop as a back up in case you're accused of not taking them. I won't be asking for all footage to be sent to me but if someone accuses you of not making all pit stops you better have the footage to prove them wrong!
Start Procedure
Sticky bombs will start the race. The grid order and organisation of the grid will be communicated on the night once we're in the race. I will be using Discord to organise everything and will require silence from everyone during that process so we get it done quickly. If anyone would like to help with the hands-on, on-the-night organisation of the event (mainly just the gridding up/race start procedure) let me know.
Event Ethos
Just like the other showdowns this is going to be a relaxed laid back event. Nobody really cares who wins or how anyone does, and I would actively discourage people from putting in any crazy practice. It's just to use an interesting selection of cars in a fun and different format with hopefully some good racing between vehicles that have different strengths and weaknesses. As always with these showdowns there will be some cars that are quicker than others, but the main point is to have fun and some good racing with a variety of vehicles (all eight of which are separated by around half a second on CCGP).
Signups
All verified members can sign up to the event but will automatically be placed on the reserve list. The signup sheet will be filled with those who have the loyal member role first and then finished with verified members, in order of signups. If there are enough signups we'll run two races so people don't miss out, though I imagine that's unlikely.
