I'm just getting into racing in GTA and was wondering if anyone had any tips to practice racing? There is only one way really and that is to race and lose. You learn how other people race and you get to see how people do it better. Plus you'll learn how to control the cars. But also watch some tutorials about racing lines, throttle control, braking and how to be smooth. Look for mistakes you make, if you're hitting a lot of walls when coming out of turns, maybe check your breaking. If you're spinning on the way out of a turn, check your throttle. Check out this slightly older vid from Broughy1322

- Race on proper race tracks, which are not too long or too difficult. Try to find clips of fast laps on YouTube to learn about better lines. Do 5+ laps on a track, so you learn the track and notice improvement.
- Race against other clean racers. In smaller groups you can wait for each other, if someone crashes. You learn the most by racing close to other drivers. Ask faster players to pick slower cars to balance the skill gap if necessary.
- Get used to different cars.
- Race a lot. ;)
- More details and tips in my guide

I would bookmark a few track based in each area around the map e.g. City, docks, Blaine county, airport. And just hot lap and learn the lines, curb boosts etc until you become more consistent and faster.

I would say learn the racing line but also play with random people. The reason why I am saying this is because you will face large number of world's baddest and most unfair drivers in gta racing and that can help you to know what a racing might do in his next move.
Racing with random will increase you surrounding awareness and will also enable you to predict the racers next move. It helped me alot and made me a very good driver. You should try it too.
Kind regards Yuvi.
