Honestly thing the fun ones kind of died out, last ones I liked were NFS:Carbon and Grid. If you want something less known I would recommend trying out

I confirm that Split/Second was a really awesome game. The soundtrack was quite good and the races always intense. Too bad it was so short-lived and wasn't all that known.

I would say IRacing but you need a racing wheel, and pedals and obviously a chair for it to be a good experience i haven't played it myself but i have heard great things about it. It only costs £6.99 or $9.22.
