well for a while now I have seen them about, but I have had my budget solution which is objectively better. As my years of being a cool gamer man have passed on bye, I have ammased a collection of 3 nintendo DS's, and whenever I am to go somewhere where I will be with friends, but also be bored (like at a hospital or something) I will bring all three nintendo DS's and we can play classic games like kirby superstar ultra, mario party DS, mario kart DS or pokemon soul silver. This solution is very much cheaper as if you are thrifty, you can probably get yourself a few ds's and games for pretty cheap.

I've really enjoyed mine... there are a lot of great couch co-op offerings and the fact that it comes with "2" controllers out of the box helps a bit in that regard. That being said a lot of those games are also on Steam. The portability and first party titles are very compelling though.

Well I caved and bought one yesterday. Only played Odyssey so far but I have to say I am quite enjoying it. My last Nintendo purchases were the DS lite and the Wii. Not sure how much use I will get out of it yet as I have yet to buy anything but the console and a game so its not exactly portable yet because I have nothing to carry it in and protect the screen with.
