Broughy1322, Mogi, and 3 more like this

For once I have done my homework early, here is my footage from the last round.
The first thing you notice is that I am running with Maze Bank colours. The game didn't let me choose my Overflod-coloured Penumbra (?) so doubles92 spawned a copy of his car for me. Thanks man!
0:20: start
2:13: I get hit by what I think is Maci7772's lagg. I lose the position, lose sight of the lead and lose my concentration
2:36: I run wide, catch a bump and fly backwards into the track. Broughy1322 flies through. tylerdurdin4 is less lucky but gets in front of me as well.
4:10: tylerdurdin4, me and jameznash have a close battle for position, I end in front after some side-to-side corners.
6:48: smithy's car scares the hell out of me after he DCed.
7:15: tylerdurdin4 enters the uphill section much better than me and takes the position when I fail to defend the inside.
7:02: I get in front of tylerdurdin4
9:30: I catch up and battle with Maci7772, lagg plays a part again and this time I end up in front.
And that's it from me. At this point I'm a few seconds behind doubles92 with more than 1h to go. The difference between us oscillates between 5 and 12 seconds for the remainder of the race, but I cannot get close enough to put pressure on him.
So here we have it, MCEC2 has ended. GG to double_s92 for getting the win, consolidated with 8(!) top-2 finishes
Also GG to lewjen (smithyonetwelve) for the advice he gave me when I asked, for showing us all where the limits of GT3 cars were and for staying alive in the battle for the championship until the end despite the hate that R* servers have shown him.
Not less important, GG for everyone I have had battles with throughout the championship, which is the same as to say the entire GT3 field: jameznash, Thell_46, Alurcard, @alfislegend, tylerdurdin4 and jsantospt. It was super fun and rewarding to share the track with you guys!
And of course thanks ChrisDE22 and @moostered for sharing Team Overflod with me. Discussing racing lines and strategy with you has also been really helpful!
And finally, my thoughts now that we have finished:
I'm very satisfied with how this event has made me a better racer: After season 1 I felt like I turned from a mediocre to a decent driver, and now the progression has continued and I feel I can be fairly competitive. I've won races on merit (specially the muscle round with -I think- no DCs in my class), and finished 2nd overall (helped by smithy's trouble, yes), but most importantly I was in the fight until the very end.
It is also invaluable that MCEC has clearly shown me where I need to improve the most: I'm weak at defending my position and at keeping concentrated after mistakes and when pressure is on. That's my homework for next seasons/events
On the downside, in my opinion 90+ minutes has been probably a bit too much in some of the races. It also wasn't always easy to allocate time for everything that real life demands in order to be able to attend the MCEC races. Perhaps reducing the duration of the races would increase the interest/commitment/availability of players.
Sorry for the long long post, thanks a TON to Broughy1322 for organising the event and making those awesome videos, thanks gun1t123 for being the pace car and thank YOU for reading until the end! See you on the track
PS: Yeah, I need a break too. Glad that we have made it to the end
