Goddamnit McLaren why are you so fckin terrible. Heart breaking to see I was surprised Jenson was so optimistic about it though, I guess the only way to go is up so I can kind of see his view point but not having either Fernando or Jenson up the grid getting really stuck in is disappointing. On a plus note it's good to see Ferrari have finally fired enough people to somehow become contenders again, I can already see a season long battle between them, Williams and Redbull for second place in the constructors Mercedes <3

What the absolute fuck was that? Having flashbacks to Indianapolis in 2005.

This'll be interesting. More than half the grid will get engine penalties somewhere during this season. Four power units per season is an insane rule.

What has happened to McLaren? A few years ago they were great but now with a crappy car they are lucky to finish! If Button was at Red Bull or Mercedes he would consistently be on the podium.

The Honda engine is brand new so reliability problems were excpected. Also according to Honda they took a very extreme approach on the power unit packaging making it very compact. The benefit of a smaller power unit is that the back of the engine cover can be smaller improving aerodynamics but because of the extreme packaging reliability is even more of an issue compared to what a usual new engine would have (cooling problems I think). I am not sure for this but I also think that they werent runing the engine at full power just to improve the chances of finishing.
Its a long term move by them, currently they are very bad but hopefully when they figuere out the engine the car will benefit from their aggresive approach and be fast, thats their opinion on the topic.
As a big Mclaren fan myshelf I can only sit back and wait

You just know, even though he might not ever admit it, Fernando is kicking himself given how improved Ferrari have become. I hope he stays in F1 long enough to see more race wins and possibly another WDC. I am sure McLaren can turn it around but not till the end of the season if that!

Comparing to Mercedes that is. They are saying that there can see a lot of room for improvment, I am confident they will be much much stronger by the end of the year.

I knew McLaren wouldn't be title contenders but I was at least hoping they would be better than the last two years

Only 1 race so far, anything can happen. But allready seems Mercedes is NoDo this year too hahaha.
I'm exited for what all the rookies will do this year. Too bad Verstappens car broke down, but Nasr showed some nice skills keeping in front of Ricciardo.
What I've seen so far Ferrari made some good improvements on their pace, Williams has too.
I'm a Hamilton and Verstappen fan, but just as in GTA racing, whoever wins isn't the most important for me, as long as it's a good race.

FYI, many betting sites are taking bets for the 2015 season without Mercedes factored in. I honestly think Merc is still sandbagging. They are still on the old powerplants IIRC.
