Although the films ending was a brilliant tribute, the film as a whole was awful imo. I honestly think it's time this set of characters was put to bed because the films can only get more over the top and ridiculous from here.
The film was all action and no content right from the word go, and I just found the whole thing so boring it was funny.

Have to agree, but let's be honest this has been the case for all of them after Tokyo Drift. I can officially call myself a Fast and Furious fan boy

Right? It's not even about "Street Racing" itself. It's about family, & how Torettos crew do "jobs" to keep their family together...... You're both wrong. Its clearly a romantic comedy between the inseparable love of a blonde and bold guy. They're both pretty bold. One of them is bald on top of that.

Saw it. I think it sucked, badly.
*opinionated spoilers ahead*
I think one of the main problems of this movie is the speed with which they introduce new cars. One of the good things about F&F was that you could form an attachment to them, much like to the characters. Here it's a new set of cars for every scene. Lame. The only car that gets any real attention is the Lykan Hypersport (damn R* if they bring it into the game before the Pagani Huyara), and even that car is only a plot-carrying tool and gets destroyed in the end.
Then there's the characters. Tyrese Gibson is getting ridiculous and annoying on top. From the badass he used to be, he's now a comic relief character. Pathetic. There was the terrorist guy, no idea what his name was. We didn't even know why he's bad, except that he's a terrorist. He sucked. Jason Statham, another generic bad guy. Decent performance. Not much else. Sucked. And Hobbes, my favorite character since his first appearance, was barely in the film!
The action? Too much over the top. Took absolutely no regards for what human body can actually withstand. Sucked. Also there was not a single race in the movie, exept for that lame drag race, which only served as a trigger for an absolutely dumb "plot twist" that was placed there only to then provide a heartwarming reunification moment. Suckery at its finest.
My favorite moment in the movie was when the tower on top the building my Integrity Way apartment in GTA is in got destroyed, because it only shows what a meticulous recreation of LA LS actually is.
I wanna say, I am not against the turn towards action Fast and Furious movies took. I actually remember liking 4 and 5 very much. Though I haven't seen those movies for a very long time now, so my opinions of them might be different now.
Anyway, if you haven't seen the Need for Speed movie, please do. In my opinion it is miles better. It is actually exciting, cuz you don't know what's about to happen, since there's not a set of characters that needs to survive and keep on rolling. It's also quite funny at times. And the car action is miles better.

I think 4 was where it started to lose it's roots, and then 5 wasn't what what F&F use to be about, having said that I do think it was a great film with action that was both semi-believable and not rammed down your throat every 2 minutes. i have yet to see the Need for Speed film but really want to check it out! I do have an issue with it though which is one I have with the NFS games which is it's all about the 'unownable' super/hyper cars instead of the everyday cars people actually use and drive. This is the reason NFSU2 was imo the peak of the series, I loved racing my Lancer Evo around the mountains in that game!

Its the first fast and furious movie I've seen.I saw it yesterday at the cinema with my friends, and it was a good action movie. It was entertaining to watch but it was a bit too ridiculous in my opinion.I like an action movie to have an element of believability, but too much of this was ridiculous. The big guy(Hobbs?),fell about 5 stories on to the roof of a car,and just broke an arm(which seemed to heal incredibly fast). That to me was just too much, whatever about jumping out of the first floor or something but that was superhero stuff right there.I don't know how many times a car was driven off the edge of a cliff, and that building jump in the lykan hypersport was...There was a couple of other ridiculous things too. Also, too many times someone "died" only for them to have miraculously survived. It's not like I didn't expect something like that(happens in a lot of action movies) but it becomes meaningless after awhile .I also would have preferred for them to use less cars but give each more screen time, there was no need for every character to have so many different cars.Overall it was a decent film, and entertaining to watch with family/friends but it was just too over the top,and had too thin a story for my taste.
Almost forgot, why the hell did they just drive straight at each other and crash twice? It seemed to be a reference to the older films, but I just thought it was kind of stupid.

Saw it a couple nights ago. Very over-the-top, but I don't really care as it kept me entertained. Very nice tribute at the end, got a little knotted up. Simple.
