I'm going to continue playing GTA on my PS3, but I'm getting a new PC so I'll get it for that. Also in the trailer I saw Michael driving a Jackal I think, but inside the dials were working so maybe we'll get a cockpit view? I hope we do, it'll be lots of fun driving off road in cockpit view. When I get a PS4 I might get it for that but I don't think I will since I have it for PC.

Would the xbox 360 guys here go to PS4 or xbox 1 if they buy next gen, bc I know quite a few xbox players that already changed to ps4. And never the other way. It would be great if everybody goes to 1 console, we could finally race against everybody

Well, thanks for being polite. Now, pretty much none of those things translates to competetive parts of GTA Online. I couldn't care less how many birds are above me when I'm doing hot laps on Cutting Coroners. I guess it would be cool to have deer crossing in front of you every now and then, but that doesn't really solve the current burning issues the MP currently has. We need them to put an end to all the disconnects, to timed out sessions and whatnot. We need them to lower the latency in deathmatches greatly, so there aren't as many kill trades, nonsense death behind cover, stuff like that. We need cars on your screen to be in the same place as they are on your opponent's in races, so there's no more people flying off without you actually hitting them on your screen. These are the things that need to be fixed. Fancier graphics are always nice, but I'd sacrifise all the tessalation in the world for a better "netcode", or whatever is the collective name of the forementioned issues these days.
I'm no programmer, but if these things aren't fixable on current get, well, then they bit off too big a piece of the pie I guess. If you want an example of things done right in a similar game, check out ABP: Reloaded. Yes, it's much simpler on a much smaller scale, and on PC but it works flawlessly. Zero problems with lagging cars, hit registration or latency. And it has 45 people per lobby.

I'm upgrading to the PC version solely so that I don't hit objects that haven't loaded yet when I'm racing.

Trowa Do you play any competetive shooters? Kill trades are always a thing you want to avoid. This has nothing to do with realism, and if it had, I guarantee you that you wouldn't be able to hit a mountain even if you kept your finger on the trigger after getting shot. So I'm 99,9% sure it's not intentional. The problem is the huge latency in the game. Someone always starts shooting first, so (disregarding gun accuracy, damage, etc.) they should win the firefight. The problem is that it often happens that say I see an enemy shooting me, I aim at him, start and shooting too. He kills me, but I've then I can see on the camera of my dead body how he falls, even as long as 3 seconds after me. I haven't had this kind of crap happen in any other game. Yeah, BF4 was in crappy state too, but that was a walk in the park compared to this. Same with the cars and their latency issues. Disconnects are bad, bud these issues are just as bad, if not worse. And so far I don't have any reason to believe they won't be present when the game comes out in fall.

Trowa Very well then. If these problems disappear with GTA's re-relase (which I don't think they will), I'll be more than happy to admit you were right and I was not. And if you care to post some links to anything around your progaming career I'll gladly check it out.

Trowa If you think insults help your cause here in any way, fine. What I am trying to say here is that things like this take very long to change, and it doesn't seem that they were R*'s priority in any way. They did improve on all the errors and disconnects since launch, but I don't think the lags and latency issues were improved one bit since release. I have no proof that things will not change with re-release. I am simply stating my opinion based on my experience. If you want examples, take BF4. How long did it take Dice to fix the tickrate in a game that sorely needed it, and was nothing new to them in terms of architecture. My credentials? I do the same thing as you, read dev blogs, gaming news sites, stuff like that. A pretty pointless question, since none of us here has any insider knowledge of the matter and we both say what we THINK is going to happen. I don't get why are you getting angry over my opinion differing from yours. I thought we could share our opinions in a polite manner, but you seem to have turned this into something personal.

I was wondering where did that come from! But read what I wrote earlier again. Progaming, not programming. I was curious about your gaming background. Alrigh, that's cleared up. I am no programmer either, I'm in college. I know BF and GTA are different things. That's just where my faith in GTA's major improvement comes from. Dice is a rather accomplished developer and you would think they would fix their game asap, but they took so long. EA's loss in that voting poll has nothing to do with that. And R* is very much new to the online world. None of their previous games were this focused on the online component. And I didn't buy BF4, as I knew what I'd be getting into. I got myself BF3 for, believe it or not, 6k in WoW gold on a private server I used to play on. I didn't enjoy it very much, BF being such a major player in the industry, I still follow the events around it.

Where xbox's rendering is much slower than ps3's (but at the North Loop, some things don't render for me there.. Like the Fruit Stand/Shop)
