Ever since GTA Online was announced, the thing I (strangely) was looking forward to the most was the ability to create my own races. As such, I've tried to make a variety of tracks since the creator was released, and I want to share my favourites with you all, so you can test, rate, critique and hopefully enjoy.
Let's start with the first three races I made since watching Broughy's videos.
Topside Grand Prix - The first of the three GP tracks is a high-speed affair through the northern Los Santos city streets. From checkpoint 18 onwards the turns become more varied, but a decently high speed can be maintained throughout.
Westside Grand Prix - A much more technical track set in Western Los Santos. Plenty more turns than in Topside GP, but still has a few places to attain top speed. Hit the accelerator out of checkpoint 15, and carry your speed all the way through, lifting off before checkpoint 20 as the turn starts easy before braking before 21 as the turn sharpens quickly. The hills between checkpoints 33 and 35 encourage a good racing line and braking.
Underside Grand Prix - A shorter track that is a mixture of the previous two. Long straights and fast corners in the first and last parts of the race, and more sharper turns in the middle section. And please, do watch out for the bump in the road before the chicane, it can really screw up your braking.
And now for the rest. Let's start with my favourite race of the lot.
The Scenic Route - If Top Gear ever came to San Andreas to search for the 'Best Driving Road', then this would be it. The first few bends offer an immediate challenge, while the changes in inclination in during the latter stages of the race call for driving of the utmost quality. Check out the epic view over the city skyline when coming over the top of the hill during checkpoints 9-10, especially at night. As is a theme with my more 'epic' point-to-point races, it ends with a jump.
Lakeside Loop
That Other Dam Race - The far superior (in my opinion) sequel to its sister track, the creatively-titled 'That Dam Race'. It's a lot less 'pure' of a racetrack than the others I've posted, but it's still a lot of fun. You can keep the accelerator all the way down during the long downhill section near the end for added excitement.
Comin' Round The Mountain
Boneshaker
The Scenic Route Back
Hillside Derby
Fast and Furriest
The LS Off-Road GP
Mirror Park Raceway
The N.O.O.S.E. is Loose
Grapeseed Grand Prix
Velociracer
And the Grand Finale, Escape From Los Santos.
Phew! I know that's a lot to swallow, but please give as many of them as possible a try. Feedback is hugely appreciated. Thanks!
