I've looked over the forums and haven't found a thread about the topic of the first games people played. I've seen it brought up but not in-depth. So I decided to start this thread!
The first game I ever remember playing is Rayman: Revolution, which is called Rayman 2: The Escape in other parts on the world. Followed by that were Burnout 2, ATV Quad Power racing 2, 4x4 Evo 2 and Need for Speed: Underground 2 (I'm seeing a pattern here.) The only thing I remember about Rayman was this one thing I couldn't do in the first level (I was about 4 at the time). I was unable to do this wall-climb thing up a gap.
I think my love of racing stems from these first few years, with my dad mainly buying racing games. I think even now the vast majority of PS2 games I own are either racing or driving related.
Feel free to share your first experiences in gaming below. It can be as short or as long as you want.

I'm gonna date myself a bit but the OG Mario on Nintendo... I played with my cousin when he got his console! We played Contra, Duck Hunt, Punch Out, Kid Icarus, Excite Bike, Tecmo Bowl, and Pac-Man. Late 80's and Early 90's these games were so awesome... Lol I didn't play Final Fantasy until 7 came out just FYI.

I can't remember the name of it but I vaguely recall a rollerskating game on the computer that my dad had in the late 80s. I must've been 4 or 5 years old.
The first games I actually remember playing intently were Master System games like Sonic the Hedgehog, Alex Kidd, and Dizzy. Consoles were beginning to take shape but it wasn't until the Mega Drive / Genesis that I really started to take it seriously.

My first games were Pole Position, Excitebike (with that awesome track builder), and duck hunt, but I wasn't really into gaming until I played my older brother's 100% save file on GTA 3 where I started to love games, especially GTA. I'm not that old, but my family wasn't exactly wealthy so the only gaming platform my older siblings and I had in the mid to late 90's and early 2000's, up until I think 2005 when it broke and I got a PS2, was an NES that we got from my aunt around the time I was born. I'm not going to lie, I still miss playing Excitebike.. Loved that game.

Some football manager on C64. After that everything NES had to offer (even though we didn't have NES in poland but a copy called PEGASUS). After that I believe first pc era game was wolfenatein 3d followed by doom and duke 3d. By the time of duke 3d I was 10 years old and already a 5 year gamer. In 11 days I will be a 25 year gamer breaking 30 in age -.-

I think I had a NES first, followed by SNES, so lots of Mario games, Jungle Strike (although I remember I never got far) and Super Star Wars (I couldn't save on the SNES so I had to play in one go, think I got to the final bit a couple of times where you're trying to destroy the Death Star)
Early PS2 games included TimeSplitters 2 and EyeToy which came with the console. I thought I might have played Red Dead Revolver on holiday before those although it came out later so probably not.
