Welcome to an attempt to replicate, albeit on a slightly smaller scale, the real life Ginetta GT4 Supercup! Click the following link to find out about the 2015 season irl: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_Ginetta_GT4_Supercup_season
The Championship (Cars/Format/Points)
The car that will be used for this series is the Ginetta G55 GT4, a light and nimble GT racing car that can put a smile on anyone's face. Although the real life championship that this series is mostly based upon is contested over 10 rounds, with 3 races at each round, that's not quite how this will run. As this is a slightly condensed version of the real life, one-make racing series, there will be only 5 rounds, and at each round there will be 2 individual races on the same circuit.
How each round will run: Everyone that is signed up to the series and is online will be invited to a lobby. Once everyone is in the lobby, we will start proceedings with a 15 minute qualifying session, and then a race that will aim to also be around 15 minutes (number of laps will be set accordingly).
Once the first race has finished, we will stay in the lobby (or start a new lobby if a sufficient enough number of people drop out) and then repeat the 15 minute qualification and race.
Points will be awarded to all of the finishers in both races at each round, and there will be no bonus points for fastest laps or pole positions. Points will be handed out using the following system:
1st = 35, 2nd = 30, 3rd - 26, 4th = 22, 5th = 20, 6th = 18, 7th = 16, 8th = 14, 9th = 12, 10th = 11, 11th = 10, 12th = 9, 13th = 8, 14th = 7, 15th = 6, 16th = 5.
Anyone that disconnects or DNFs for any other reason will not score points.
The Calendar (Dates and Times)
Before the start of each round, a lobby will be created at around 7:45pm UTC, with the intentions to start the event (ie. get the first qualifying started) at 8pm UTC. It is up to the individual that is signed up to the event to ensure that they are online and can be invited to the lobby on time. Barring any extenuating circumstances or supernatural intervention the racing will begin at 9pm UTC on the dot.
ROUND ONE - Brands Hatch Indy - Thursday 20th August.
ROUND TWO - Snetterton 300 - Thursday 27th August.
ROUND THREE - Silverstone National - Thursday 3rd September.
ROUND FOUR - Circuit de Spa Francorchamps - Thursday 10th September. (The only non-UK based round!)
ROUND FIVE - Brands Hatch GP - Thursday 17th September.
Code of Conduct and Regulations
- Drivers must react to the green lights going out at the start of the race. Obviously this has to be a gentleman's agreement, but if you do jump the lights please let off the accelerator and give up any time gained.
- Please also try to respect the track limits. If you are deliberately going beyond the track's boundaries (ie. four wheels beyond the white lines) to either gain an advantage or gain positions, then I have no problem applying penalties. If you want to bring any of that to my attention then simply save a clip and upload an unlisted video to youtube or where ever, and send it to me privately. No public naming and shaming.
- Driving assists will be turned off and disabled. These are GT4 cars and are generally a bit easier to drive than GT3 cars and the like, if there is significant demand I can allow assists but I am very reluctant to do so.
- Each driver is to have a livery, when you sign up please state the name and number of your desired livery! I believe there are 21 liveries for the Ginetta, so there's plenty to choose from!
