So I'm here. I've never much cared for "about me" posts, but in the spirit of sharing here's some things about me and stuff:
I go by Clock or Clockwreck in most games. I'm 36. Probably a little older than most of your members. That's old enough to remember when Pac-man was still in arcades. I got my first Atari 2600 in 1984 and have been gaming ever since. I've particularly enjoyed the Grand Theft Auto franchise since the first. The original GTA seems wildly primitive now; top down view and 2 dimensions. With the latest game in the series being of course, the most rewarding. I've found that I enjoy the racing more than any other mode, especially against challenging players.
Interested in becoming more competitive in races, I sought out youtube videos that could be of help. I already knew the basics: boosting, following racing lines, effective braking, etcetera. I discovered Broughy's "Best fully customized cars" series and it was a massive help. It influenced my car buying habits heavily. When the Super boost video and curb hopping videos were released It was a game changer for me. I win about 75% of my races now. Unfortunately that win ratio means nothing because it's against random opponents. When I come up against a racer that is near or above my skill level I send a friend request every time, however I still find it difficult to get racers that play at my level. So that's what brought me here. I expect that if I get in to any of your events, I will be schooled hard and that's just what I want. I would have joined long ago if I had known that you guys have open enrollment. I just assumed there would be some kind of lengthy application process. I'm pleased to see that you allow players of all skill levels; that was a surprise.
I live in the mid-west United States in a town of just under 400 thousand. Not the largest city, but not some backwater small town either. That puts me in the US Central time zone 5 hours behind UTC. I work a day job so I'm online mostly around 9:30pm-5:00am UTC Weekdays, later on Fridays and Saturdays.
Hope to see you guys in-game.
