RDR was so incredible I played SR1 and 2. They were fun, and enjoyable but I'm not huge on the ridiculousness of it. I remember I had a blast when the first True Crime came out. Apparently Sleeping Dogs was good, but I never go around to playing it. And now that GTA V/O is out I can't really get myself to play it because I'll just end up comparing it to this game. Did you know that Sleeping Dogs was originally True Crime? Square bought the game but not the rights to the name. Originally it was called True Crime Hong Kong. Yeah, I know, which is why I wanted to play it. I was going to get TC2 but it wasn't that good apparently. Really glitchy and stuff. So I held off.

I play Minecraft and elder scrolls. Although Skyrim kind of ruined it for me however I did beat all the main storylines.

Not sure what your policy is about bumps, so I'm sorry for bumping it but I actually think it's an interesting thread, worth bumping. I played several GTA-like games, but I gotta say I never liked any other game as much as I enjoyed the GTA series. Here are my thoughts about them: Driv3r (PS2, 2004) and Driver: Parallel Lines (PS2, 2006): Compare them to older titles of the Driver series and they're great. Compare them to GTA games and they suck (even more when you realize Driv3r and San Andreas got released the same year). (I still enjoyed them, as a big fan of the Driver series. ) The Getaway: Black Monday (PS2, 2004): Since it was set in an European country, for the first time in a GTA-like game I got to drive vehicles that I saw everyday on the streets IRL. It felt awesome! But driving on the left (the game was set in England) still felt weird. Sadly, the driving sucked. But overall it was a good game! Of course, nothing compared to San Andreas, released the same year. Mafia (PS2, 2004): This game was absolutely terrible and barely playable. I got like 10 fps whenever I was in the city. I stopped playing it very quickly. But I heard it's actually a great game on PC. Never got to try it. Mafia II (PS3, 2010): The storyline in this game was much more linear than in GTA games. It was a good game, but not catchy enough for me to finish it. Driving cars from the first half of the 20th century was unusual and cool though. Red Dead Redemption (PS3, 2010): RDR was awesome. Felt like playing GTA but back in the 1900s. The diversity of the animal life was great, the storyline too. I found the quests (flowers, etc.) a bit long and boring though, which eventually made me stop playing the game... But someday I'll start playing it again! Saints Row 2 (PS3, 2008): Great gameplay, despite the sucky driving. But I didn't enjoy the storyline as much as in GTA games (it's clear that Saints Row isn't a game series for storyline lovers, but that doesn't make it bad!) and eventually, I found that it was not my style... Scarface, The world is yours (PS2, 2006): For a game made after a movie, it was rather good. Widely inspired by Vice City and Vice City Stories, but after all, Vice City was inspired by the movie Scarface too. I never finished it, because I bought the game used and the disk was a bit scratched: at some point, the game kept freezing. I might add that I didn't watch the movie yet (I know, it's a shame...), so I don't know how much the game matches the movie storyline. The next GTA-like games I'll buy will probably be LA Noire and Watchdogs.

RDR needs to be a series, still love it even now
Sleeping dogs, well for a game in development Limbo it came out of it better than Duke Nukem did, and the story was better than most games, even if it was super short.
I saw so much potential here, I am glad there's a sequel ebeing made because the game deserves it.
The mechanics aren't great, in fact it's kinda arcade in a lot of respects, but man I am looking forward to the next game
