So not many may follow football (what Americans may call "soccer") but there's quite a few of us that talk on slack about it. What I want to know is: your all time best/favourite team. Some may be in just for being brilliant, others for being a legendary player for your club/country. So they don't have to be the best in their position, but who your favourite player in that position is. The Format:
- Set out the formation of the team, e.g. 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, 3-5-2, etc. - List each player by position starting from goalkeeper ending with forwards. - For each player list why you chose him, why you like him. - Then finally list 7 substitute below with a short reason for each after. Thought it would be interesting hearing other's favourite players

I'll start off:
4-4-2
Most of mine are modern players since I haven't seen enough to judge players before my time.
GK: Dida - I can't comment on most of the great goalkeepers as they were before my time, but Dida is the best I've seen.
RB: Gary Neville - was a brilliant defender, but could also attack. Had a great pass on him but was a solid defender, something modern full backs lack.
RCB: Franz Beckenbauer - may have been a slower game back in his time, but not just a defender but a brilliant passer, the old school "Sweeper".
LCB: John Terry - Again Chelsea legend, three time European Defender of the Year, five time FIFPro Team of the Year player, not much else to say.
LB: Roberto Carlos - fast, strong, good defender and had a powerful shot. Probably the best LB of all time.
RM: Gennaro Gattuso - started of as a winger and that's how I'll remember him. One of the most aggressive players there ever has been, gave everything for the team.
RCM: Ruud Gullit - probably the most all-rounded player, could play anywhere across the pitch, and was world class.
LCM: Frank Lampard - being a Chelsea fan I grew up watching him play, out-scored most strikers, my favourite all time player.
LM: Cristiano Ronaldo - so skilful to watch, one of the all time greats.
RS: Ronaldo - won the WC, top goal scorer, had everything a striker needed.
LS: Lionel Messi - like Cristiano, one of the all time greats, can tear apart teams on his own.
Substitutes:
GK: Petr Cech - holds many records and a club legend for Chelsea.
RB: Cafu - another all time great, wish we had more full backs like him.
CB: Paolo Maldini - managed to be one of the best players for over a decade, long career at the top.
CM: Claude Makelele - not many players have a role named after them.
RM: Luis Figo - as much as I hated him for the 2006WC, can't deny he was amazing.
ST: Zlatan Ibrahimovic - you either love him or hate him.
ST: Alan Shearer - can't praise this guy enough, BPL record goal scorer, all round striker and leader on the pitch.

Starting XI: Thierry Henry, Thierry Henry, Thierry Henry, Thierry Henry, Thierry Henry, Thierry Henry, Thierry Henry, Thierry Henry, Thierry Henry, Thierry Henry, Thierry Henry Subs: Thierry Henry, Thierry Henry, Thierry Henry, Thierry Henry, Thierry Henry, Thierry Henry, Thierry Henry EDIT: I'll do a proper one when I can be bothered to think about it

4-3-3 GK - Manuel Neuer - Rarely does a goal-keeper produce a level of football which makes him the most talked about player on the pitch. He stops so many goals by coming out early and clearing the ball. Fabulous player. RB - Dominic Iorfa - Really young good talent in the Wolves squad, Usain Bolt in disguise. CB - Billy Wright - If you don't know who he is please read about him, he is a legend. Never booked. Won division 1 with Wolves 3 times and won the FA Cup and Charity Shield too. What a gentlemen. CB - Bobby Moore - Just a great English legend. Won the World Cup. Brick wall. LB - Roberto Carlos - Wizard. Bend it like Beckham pffft. CM - Paul Scholes - Just a machine. Could pick out any pass required, world class. CM - Jimmy Bullard - Football need funny personalities. Fitted the bill perfectly CAM - Juan Mata - Class on and off the field, great lad. RW - Lionel Messi - Fantastic player who is just the best of my generation. Watching him score wonder goals like he does makes me smile. ST - Thierry Henry - Legend. LW - Ronaldinho - Who didn't idolise this guy growing up. Brought street football to the pitch. Manager - Stan Cullis - Made Wolves the best team in England. Made Wolves a well known club all across Europe. Subs: GK - De Gea - I think the modern day keepers are the best of all time with the current pace of the game and the movement of the ball in the air. De Gea has pulled of some amazing saves in his career. CB - George Elokobi - Loved watching him play for Wolves, I was there when he walked round the stadium crying that he was leaving. CM - Roy Keane - Don't mess with him. CM - Joey Barton - Mint French accent mate xD RW - David Beckham - Best English player I've seen. ST - Steve Bull - Wolves legend. ST - Balotelli - Lives a wild life, doesn't give a shit does he?

4-2-3-1
GK: Peter Schmeichel - Only chose over Oliver Khan because I grew up when this guy was unbeatable between the sticks. LB: Roberto Carlos - Most offensive minded full back of all time. Great stamina, speed, technique and lets not forget that magical free kick of his. LCB: Paulo Maldini - The ultimate one team player (Gerrard who?). I don’t think there is a defender, past or present, that could read the game better than him. RCB: Fabio Cannavaro - Versatile…..tactical, stamina, strength, positioning. He had it all. RB: Cafu - Full of energy with pace for days! LCM: Pavel Nedved - Complete midfielder. Pace, stamina, two footed. RCM: Patrick Vieira - Straight up beast! Pure power combined with tactical intelligence and technical ability on the ball. LW: Lionel Messi - Greatest of all time? CAM: Zinedine Zidane - The most stylish footballer I have ever had the pleasure of watching. Nobody had as much grace and class as him (minus that headset of course lol). RW: Thierry Henry - The King!….nuff said. ST: Ronaldo - Greatest striker of all time…hands down. Pace, beastly strength, agility, trickery, finishing…he didn’t have a single fault in his game.
Subs: GK: Oliver Khan - Completely interchangeable with Schmeichel. CB: Tony Adams - Incredible leader on the pitch. He’s Mr. Arsenal! CB: Carlos Puyol - Dominating, rugged and a natural leader. I don’t think anyone can question his commitment whenever he stepped on to the pitch. CM: Tomas Rosicky - He’s in my top 5 Arsenal players of all time. Amazing technique! The Little Mozart even shares my birthday. RM: David Beckham - I don’t even need to explain this one. RW: Cristiano Ronaldo - If this was real, CR7 would be the greatest super sub of all time. ST: Dennis Bergkamp - The non-flying dutchman can’t quite beat out Ronaldo….but this guy was a class act. Possibly the greatest technique I have ever seen of any player. He was such a joy to watch.

No Pelé or Eusébio in a team? Well it's favorite team, not best team, none of us saw them play, so there isn't much attachment I guess
