IF YOU NEVER CONTACTED ROCKSTAR SUPPORT AND ARE INTERESTED IN HOW THAT MIGHT GO. FEEL FREE TO SCAN OVER THE DIALOGUE I HAD WITH THEM.
THEFROC
my race has invalid data and wont let me load it up in online or creator
this is the link to the race
socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/jobs?missionId=ayp_qkcW50eaKPxpUjP85Q&platformId=2
if i could get back into it i could find out the problem but it wont even load in creator. do i really need to make this again from scratch!!??
ROCKSTAR
Thank you for contacting R* Technical Support. We would like to know if you are trying to create a race and you are not able to or whether you have created a race and are unable to access it. Please provide us with screenshots which relates to this so that we can assist you further.
THEFROC
The race is already published, hence the provided link. im sorry i cant provide a screenshot but i can explain. i have played on it already in gtaonline. its just when i try to start it now it says it cannot be loaded because there is 'invalid data'. i cant think why because i already played it. it did work fine earlier today. so i tried to see what the problem was by trying to access it through the creator to make changes if necessary but it gives me the same message as when i try to start the job online. the message being it has invalid data.
ROCKSTAR
Screenshots would be very helpful in this situation. Would you happen to be able to get any?
THEFROC
heres your screenshot...
i noticed the play count has increased so it seems other people may still be able to play it. I however just get this screen.

ROCKSTAR
Thank you for providing that information. I will look into this and see what we can do for you.
ROCKSTAR
Thank you for contacting Rockstar support. If you are having any issues with GTA Online in-game, please refer to the following troubleshooting guide we have laid out for PS3:
We'd like to provide assistance with any Online-related issues with our connection troubleshooting guide:
Check all the physical devices on your network to ensure they are plugged in and powered on. Perform a connection test on each device connected to the network.
For Playstation 3, refer to the following website manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/settings/connecttest.html
Understanding NAT Types:
NAT Types:
Open
Moderate
Strict
Open NATs can connect to any of the three types. --> Probably the least common type
Moderate can only connect to open and moderate. --> Probably the most common type
Strict can ONLY connect to open.
Strict NATs are a difficult problem with peer-to-peer games. Since most people don't have open NATs, the player with a strict NAT won't be able to find many joinable games.
Also, if the player with a strict NAT does manage to join a game, if another player with a moderate NAT joins later, the player with the strict NAT gets kicked out.
The problem is even worse since it is sometimes difficult for software (i.e. Games for Windows Live) to detect which NAT type it is running behind, and can often report that the player has a moderate NAT when they actually have a strict NAT.
Another problem is that sometimes the ISP (Internet Service Provider) is also NAT'd which often means even if you have a direct connection to the internet (without a router/firewall), the ISP still acts as a strict NAT.
Port Forwarding:
The following ports are beneficial to have open for Online console gaming:
TCP: 53, 80, 443, 465, 983, 1863, 3074, 5223, 10070-10080
UDP: 53, 88, 1863, 3074, 3478-3479, 3658, 10070
If you need assistance with opening these ports, please refer to the following website for more information (you will need to know your router brand and model, as the website guides are based on specific routers)
portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm
Here are some additional tips that have helped many players improve their connectivity:
Make sure your router's firmware is upgraded the latest version (very important).
Unplug your router for 10 minutes and plug it back in. Some older routers degrade in performance over time until it is rebooted, similar to a PC.
Disable any firewall or other network filtering for the game.
Enable uPnP (universal plug and play) on your router.
If you don't care about security, enable DMZ (de-militarized zone) on your router for your PC's address. This turns off all of your router's firewall features for that specific PC.
Get a router that has the "Xbox LIVE compatible" or "Certified for Windows Vista" logo.
Contact your ISP and ask them what your DNS setting should be.
Direct Connection/Power Cycle:
If you are still having issues connecting to the online servers after trying the above steps, try connecting your broadband modem directly to the console or PC on which you are playing this game. At this point, please disconnect your Broadband modem from power for Five (5) minutes. After this time has elapsed, plug the modem back into power and allow the normal power-up cycle to finish.
If this final step does not resolve your issue, please plug a PC directly into your modem and provide us screen shots from the following locations:
www.speedtest.net
www.whatsmyip.org
www.pingtest.net/
ipconfig (Windows + R > type "cmd" without quotes > hit okay > type "ipconfig" without quotes > press ENTER )
Your router's port configuration screen.
Please provide these screencaps to your reply so we can look into this further. Again thank you for contacting Rockstar support.

This doesnt apply to my problem. i can connect to servers and start other races. even other ones i created. only this one doesnt load up.
ROCKSTAR
We request you try re-creating the race again and see if this resolves the issue.
We look forward to your reply.
THEFROC
you look forward to my reply? haha, i think someone has a very good sense of humour!
my original question was with reference to a message that comes up saying 'failed to download because it contains invalid data and must be remade'.
and your answer was "We request you try re-creating the race again and see if this resolves the issue" OF COURSE THAT WOULD RESOLVE THE ISSUE! IT SAYS SO IN THE MESSAGE!!
my actual qustion ABOUT the message was (quote)"creator says my race has invalid data and wont let me load it up in online or creatorif i could get back into it i could find out the problem but it wont even load in creator. do i really need to make this again from scratch!!??"and your answer is (quote) "We request you try re-creating the race again"
Not to mention that before i got that answer out of you, your first reply was a complicated email as long as my arm about connecting to servers!?? talk about getting fobbed off! honestly, i feel like you dont give a s***.
I was obviously asking whether there was anything you can do on your end to specifically look at my individual race that took a whole day to create so that i wouldnt have to re create it. an actual reading of the question and simple yes or no wouldve sufficed.
its a bit wierd that only i cant play on it and everyone else can and its a bit s*** that i didnt do anything to cause the problem and have no idea why its happened! I really dont feel like youve tried to solve my problem. i feel like youve fobbed me off with a blanket email about server jargon and now youre saying not your problem go remake it.
my conclusion is you get a lot of emails so cant be bothered actually seeing to them all. i imagine you playing office olympics all day and firing off the odd emails hoping they 'go away'. im not saying thats true, im saying thats how this process has made me feel about you and if you didnt EXPECT all this in my reply that you said you were "looking forward to" so much, i can only conclude that youre a trained chimp with a 2 button pad in its hand or so incompetent i cant imagine how you got your job.
of course, as i said at the beginning you could just be someone with a very good sense of humour, in which case i imagine this email will serve only as a bit of light hearted office banter as you intended. either way, ill await a reply and keep my fingers crossed.
and cheers! thanks for nothing thusfar.
ROCKSTAR
We apologize for any inconvinece this might have caused.
We request you to try the below mentioned steps to resolve your issue.
On PS3, remove old game data: From the XMB (system software), go to the Game column and choose Game Data Utility. Press the Triangle button on each piece of unneeded game data and then select Delete. Confirm.
On PS3, restore file system and rebuild database: Turn off PS3. Hold the power button until it turns off again. Turn it on by holding the power button and wait for two quick beeps. Release the button and you will be in the recovery menu. From here, you can restore the file system or rebuild the database. These are the two options in that menu that may improve performance without wiping all your game progress. Restoring file system checks for corrupt/missing system files and rebuilding the database cleans up your storage space. WARNING! If you rebuild the database, you will lose messages, playlists, music, videos and certain system settings. You will not lose your game progress or trophies.
