Guys how do we feel about setting the cam to cockpit camera?
Hood cam and roof cam are a bit try hard - this is a racing sim, so by convention it should be a cockpit view. Yes you can see the apexes better on hood cam but if you've ever raced cars you know the view you see.
Helmet cam is kind of ok but you really need occulus rift or similar since you de-focus on the HUD as you go quicker.

This is a computergame and I'm sitting infront of a 24 inch monitor, not in a room with a 180° whatsoever racing simulator. The FOV in the cockpit camera is probably 10 to 30% compared of the FOV in reallife... I'm glad we have crew chief telling us if we have cars next to us, but nevertheless I want to get as much information with my eyes as I can get, and limiting to cockpit camera would really bother me.

I really, really like that idea endersai. I raced with the roof cam for a while, switched to cockpit view and I dont want to get back on the roof and get all those pesky bugs in my face and look like an overly happy dog sticking its head through the sunroof.

you can increase the FOV ingame, ppl I know, but that's not what I wanted to say. Looking at a picture of something does not give you the same fov as looking at it in rl. And I don't want to increase my ingame fov to the max so things in distance become a few pixel. If you guys are fine with racing in cockpit camera, why do u want to force others to use it too?

Because in a sim you're normally expected to use cockpit cam and the hood/roof cams give a better view of the apex. So it's more arcade-y which we don't want, and adds advantage.
You can see here - all the cool kids dun use it:

Maybe for this race we won't but for a future series yesh.

Ok, I totally understand that, but changing cam a few days before race would have worried me. <3

Maybe in the future, yeah, that's fine but like Iceman said, changing it two days before the race is way too short notice. A lot of us have been practicing with our preferred view for over a month.
If you want to force that, you need to give us time to adjust.

Hey endersai , if at all possible I'd like to retire to the pitbox at the start of the race so I can spectate. Don't really want to join in the actual race since I have only played the game for an hour or so and I'm pretty sure I'd be in the way more than I'll actually race... =P
