Surprised not to see an Overwatch thread up, so I'll take up the job.Talk about Overwatch, Blizzard's first ever FPS, looking to dethrone TF2 as the main cartoon-style, class-based shooter. Talk about Heros, Maps, Skins, Whatever! As long as it's Overwatch, it can be talked about here.Rules1. Keep all Tracer/Widdowmaker/Roadhog ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)s to yourself. No one wants to see them and if they did they could look it up themselves. 2. Be a decent human being. Treat everyone with respect. Failure to do this will be treated as a breatch in the community guidelines and will be reported to a commissioner. 3. Keep off the grass. We have found a link to a cheap PC version of the game for everyone interested. Link to it here. (Credits to @pezby ) My Battlenet is HeroGut #2671, feel free to add me. Enjoy EDIT: A new, improved Overwatch thread has been created by ovivoJR, all Overwatch talk has migrated over there.

I'll start things off.
Zenyatta is by far the best support character. I feel Symmetra is too under powered and can't do anything herself, and Mercy feels a little too fragile for my taste. Lúcio is amazing at the start of a KOTH round, due to his AOE speed boost, but after that his weapon is underpowered and cannot be used reliably under most circumstances. I get the point of a support character is to help the team, but if you're separated or they all died, you can't really do much.
The strength of Zenyatta is his ability to increase damage output on an enemy. We've all been there - being chased down by a burly tank with no body to protect you. Zenyatta can attach his orb of discord to the opponent and start dealing 50% more damage! If the enemy is a relatively low dps hero, then Zenyatta will absolutely shred them, which is a vital skill when dealing with tanks.
Let me know your thoughts on this, I'm really interested to hear some different opinions.

I played the beta, and I just couldn't enjoy the game. I'm not sure if I've been poisoned by todays modern day military FPS shooters, but I just didn't have fun. I'm more disappointed in myself because I wanted to enjoy it but nothing sparked my interest.

Tbh I've never gotten into COD or Battlefield (even though my limited experience of BF4 made me love it) so maybe the games of today have been overplayed so much it has taken away from the cartoon–shooter genre.

I had quite a lot of fun in the beta, definitely left a better impression on me than TF2. However, I probably won't buy at launch... More because of other games I'm currently playing (Dark Soups). For a game launching these days though, its very polished.

For a game launching these days though, its very polished. I think I was one of the few people who experienced a bug. My UI wasn't showing, no sound effects (only background music) and the enemy team was invisible. I did hear a guy saying there was a hacker around though but I don't know what was going on tbh :derp:

As someone who is mainly a shooter person, played a few cods, battlefield, counter strikes. Being a very competitive player who on his prime can be people's worst nightmare I am saying that... ...I love Overwatch Ignore the bragging I had on top, I sometimes really like to do that. Anyway, onto Overwatch Overwatch is so goddamn refreshing, really good team game and I think I love to play all charachters. People see it as a tf2 rival, which is kind of weird. Only thing in common is unique charachters and teamplay. (I also have 1,054 hours on tf2 so I know what I'm talking about, but honestly only guy we need to ask is bladecruiser ) Sad beta has ended and it will probably be a while until I buy it. But I loved playing it with friends but most of them won't buy it because they don't really have money to spend freely. Saw a few nodo people playing it tho so maybe when it is out I could play with some. Also planning on to actually start using my microphone so that could be fun. I guess on my next post I'll join you Just Hero on your support class discussion

Let me know your thoughts on this, I'm really interested to hear some different opinions. Zenyatta is one of those I think haven't tried enough. Lots of heroes I tried. Then I got the idea of them and then managed to use them well. Didn't do that with zenyatta, but a good friendly zenyatta is really awesome to have. Symmetra is tricky, her main use is the teleporter, which can help a ton. Weapon needs some getting used to too and you need to learn sentry placements. Not the best for new players. Mercy is probably the 'main' healer, using direct healing and can boost damage. She can be really strong with a good player who knows how to move well, because the healing is fast and really good. Haven't seen the higher damage thing do a lot yet,but its probably really useful and I'm not noticing it. Her main power however, when timed well, can change the game. I haven't figured the range of the ability yet and you need a bit of luck to do it well. Lucio is my absolute favourite. The AOE healing and speed can make me more focused on the battle itself, while still healing really god. The ultimate ability for shield is really awesome and easy to use. Weird to hear his weapon being weak, I love it. Maybe I just know how to use it well, but I feel like I can hit targets easly and I once had more than 16 eliminations. It just does really good damage. I'll class the support classes like this Lucio: Offensive support Symmetra: Support support of ultimate supportness... and annoyingness. I guess a bit more defend.Don't know what else to class her Mercy:All around support Zenyatta: Some sort of all around tank support.

Only commenting because I got tagged. I doubt I'll be doing anything with Overwatch from what I've seen of the game. It's TF2 style map objectives (push the cat, stand on point stoopid, I AM BOOOOOLET PROOF) combined with a hero roster from a MOBA to fill the rolls that Blizzard wants you to.
I much prefer the wide variety of weaponry and different play styles that even a single class in TF2 brings to a match, not to mention the fact that my medic is damned expensive with all of his Strange weapons and mediguns. **WTB Strange Kritzkrieg, if anyone has one, hit me up please.**

I feel like Overwatch is easier to balance that way. Tf2 makes you personilize yourself more. Also I doubt anyone is going to have something even close to the price of a strange kritzkrieg in nodo p.s how the fuck are keys 18.55 ref now wat. this is why cs:go's economy is better cuz you rely more on people making prices using the market or just negotiating a trade than some stupid site most people force you to follow :s p.s2 that 'stoopid' word is still perfect

The price jump happened over night when that went active. I can actually see the market dying a slow death because of it, but I understand why Valve put it there. On Topic - The only thing that really interests me about Overwatch is the map design, as most of them tend to be fairly compact with many levels and paths around.

I agree that the levels are very well thought out. Apart from a few choke points that don't have obvious alternate paths (which probably got realised during the beta or they were already aware of them, and letting the players see how much of a problem they were), the maps have a lot of variety and you don't feel like you're just pushing another cart, in my experience at least. That's the point where I got out of TF2. I just found that I knew all the maps, all the sentry spots, all the counters, and so did everyone else, so it just became boring for me. Overwatch will experience this as well, but a fresh universe and game will allow it to have a long play life.

Game is just gorgeous, great artstyle, maps are made considering all the classes in mind and I feel like any class can do well because of this Its weird how I wasn't interested in overwatch. Then I tried the beta cuz my brother did and I was like 'why not I guess' I never thought I'd suddenly like a game so much. So its sad you didn't take the chance to try it blade, the amount of times games fool us is unreal. Also sadly the price of the game isn't the most comfortable either, scaring away people who don't know how it is yet Also blade, wasn't the tf2 economy dying ages ago already? I still remember when it was 6-8 refined and people (including me) complained and were talking about the good old times when it was 2 ref
