We functioned fine before the EU and we can function fine after the EU. It is narrow minded to think we need a bunch of unelected(!), undemocratic bureaucrats in Brussels telling us how to run our country! The EU is going to crumble sooner than later. It's best to leave the ship before it sinks. Functioned fine before the EU? You realise we were part of the European Community of Coal and Steel since a few years after the end of World War II in an effort to rebuild. The need for rebuilding cannot possibly mean we were 'fine' before that. The Coal and Steel Community, consisting of West Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, was essentially the beginning of the European Union as we know it today. The EU was formally established in 1993. Yes, we were doing fine before that. The EU has since been an ever growing bureaucratic mess that has been taking rights away from it's members states and imposing more and broader rules and regulations that undermine the sovereignty of those members states and their citizens. The EU is a failed experiment and we don't need it do function properly. Trade can and will still happen without the EU. Switzerland is not part of the EU and is one of the most prosperous countries in Europe. Just an example...

The population might be rich but that has nothing to do with them being in the EU. UK's and NL's economy is not as strong as Switzerland so comparing them with Switzerland is a very bad thing to do...

you sound brain washed by the rich political leaders! all they want is power and money. thats the only reason ( other than gun laws and immigrant laws ) that trump is so liked by Americans I'm pretty sure if those people were brainwashing him, he would agree with leaving Britain, not staying.. surprised hillary supporters haven't left the country....

I just heard this on the radio an hour ago and I was shocked.. What the fuck, old British people? I would express exactly what I feel about this decision, but I don't want to make any enemies. Political talk never goes down well in a videogame forum, lol.

I think I just realised what you were trying to say because it didn't make much sense. You were saying that people only like Trump because they think he's not like the big political leaders because he already has money and power, so they think he won't be bought out or anything, right? I thought it sounded like you were actually in favor of leaving, but looking back at it, it sounds like a sarcastic comment.

lzz411 If in the US the minimum voting age was 17 I don't think we'd have Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton as the Republican and Democratic nominees It's just one of those things...

what makes it worse is that most 16 and 17 year olds are more informed on current affairs, and will have to live with the votes longer than the 60+ age range. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/131215I'd urge people to sign that petition if they wanted in.

cba to read the rest of the thread, got better things to do, just wanted to say
HAPPY UK INDEPENDENCE DAY
if you're in the UK and you voted for 'remain' then I urgently ask you to learn about at least one of those: ethics, economics, political economics or cease to make any political commentary at all

Lol don't talk about rights. Rights are a big EU plus. Do you think the people who supported leave want to give more rights to the working classes?
