Hey, It's been years since I bought a monitor last time, so I'm not sure what to go for. To start with I'm considering this: LG 24MP58VQ-PI'm open to any suggestion, tips, etc. The only thing I want to is staying in this price range. Thanks for the help

That monitor has a 5ms delay, not HUGELY important but if you want it for gaming you should try and pick up one with 1ms.

Well, you need to recognize what's your preference. High refresh rate, size, resolution? For example the best budget 144 Hz monitor available is definitely this one. I can't stress enough how great this monitor is for its price: www.benq.hu/product/monitor/xl2411zIf you want a 4K monitor this one is pretty fine considering the price. However, I'd advise against 4K monitors for gaming simply because we're basically not there yet and very few game titles can handle 4K properly (and very few GPUs as well (probably like only one and that is GTX 1080)). You might have a lot of trouble with scaling and such. If you want to know more check out any videos on YT about 4K and gaming. www.amazon.com/Acer-B286HK-ymjdpprz-Widescreen-ErgoStand/dp/B00MN2OKKOIn my opinion if you have some extra money and want to invest into the future you should get a 144 Hz 1440p screen like this one. It's a great compromise between the two. If you want to watch a movie in a high res you can and if you want to play some games at high refresh rate you also can: oaziscomputer.hu/termekek/monitorok/27-28/dell-s2716dg

I can recommend the Asus VG248QE. Its a bit more expensive than the one you suggested in the OP, but its an amazing monitor.

I don't see the point in getting a TN 144Hz monitor for mainly playing GTA. Also response times mean jack shit nowadays, input lag is where we should look at, and many IPS monitors this days either match or beat many TN panels. That LG monitor isnt bad at all, and for GTA I would take a IPS monitor over a TN anyday of the week. Just look up reviews and see what you like the most and fits your wallet better. As for IPS monitor recommendations, any LG MP series like the one you linked above ASUS VX series monitors are also really good (ASUS VX279Q) you can even go for a ASUS MX, same panel as the VX monitors but come with Speakers built-in and have a better premium feel. www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-29UM68-P-ultrawide-monitor^ I'm currently running that , other than the IPS lightbleed it has a great IPS panel.

I don't see the point in getting a TN 144Hz monitor for mainly playing GTA. Dude, GTA V is not going to be around forever. The monitor will probably last him like 5 years at minimum. That is quite a long time to get into different and newer games, in 5 years GTA VI could be out, in 5 years he might decide to upgrade his GPU or even the whole computer. If he gets a better screen now he won't have to upgrade again anytime soon and waste more money.

I don't see the point in a TN monitor either, I much prefer the color reproduction and viewing angles of a IPS panel.
TN has his days counted anyway.

So far every suggestion is at least near twice as much I have for it. :\
Since I'm building a full PC in the next 2 month I can't spend all of my monies to just the monitor.
I'm not caring about the 144Hz, because the monitor I use in work is not 144Hz, and I don't want to get head ackes every day.
I'm not going to have enought money to buy a VGA, that is capable to do 4k.
I'm going to get a sound system as well, so I don't need a build in one.
So 1ms vs 5ms? TN vs IPS? I need to decide which one I like more, rigth?

I'm not caring about the 144Hz, because the monitor I use in work is not 144Hz, and I don't want to get head ackes every day. If your work doesn't consist of high fps activities (basically if your work is not gaming) then you won't tell the difference when you get back to 60 Hz at work. It all comes down to money really. 1 ms is better than 5 ms but more pricey. 5 ms is really a lot for gaming so you might wanna try some middle ground and go for 2 ms? IPS panels are more pricey than TN panels and here you have to consider your viewing angle. If you're only going to be straight in front of the monitor then you have no problem with going for a TN monitor. It's cheaper and it will deliver just fine. I personally tried both and then decided to get a TN panel. But if you vary your position a lot you might wanna get an IPS panel because TN panels doesn't look good when looked at at different angles.

It's all about what you need and what you're looking for. First of, panel types. There are three main types: IPS, VA, and TN. Competitive CS:GO players use 144 Hz, 1ms TN panels because it gives them an edge over people with slower monitors. TN panels are fast, but they generally lack color accuracy. The Asus ROG panels are actually pretty decent when it comes to color accuracy. TN panels also usually suck when it comes to viewing angles, but if it's just you sitting in front of it then it won't matter as much I guess. VA panels have really, really good blacks but like the TN panels the viewing angles suck ass. I'm not sure about speed, but I have the feeling that VA panels are the least popular =P IPS panels have excellent color accuracy and are mainly used by graphical artist who do digital art. That color accuracy comes with a trade off though, IPS panels are generally slower than TN and VA panels. But if you're not a competitive player and you don't play a lot of fast paced shooters then that's pretty negligible. Also most IPS panels are capped at 60 Hz. Recently IPS panels with a refreshrate of 100 - 144 Hz have started to pop up, but they're rare and generally expensive, the only ones that I know of are 21:9 1440p panels which cost around the €1000 mark. IPS panels also suffer from what's known as IPS glow, which is similar to backlight bleeding, but it's usually pretty mild and shouldn't bother you too much. As for the response time. It's usually measured gray to gray, meaning the time it takes for a single pixel to go from gray to white (or black, can't recall) and back to gray. 1 ms vs 5 ms only matters if you're into competitive gaming and play a lot of fast paced shooters. If you're not then 5 ms is just fine. Personally I find everything below 7 ms just fine. You also need to keep pixel density in mind. A 24" 1080p screen has a higher pixel density than a 27" 1080p screen and as a result the smaller screen will look better. Personally I find 24" 1080p acceptable but I'd look at 1440p screens if you go above 24", though this has a very subjective element to it. Best thing to do is to head to some stores and check out different resolutions on different sized screens and see what you find acceptable. If you want to find more information about a monitor you like I can highly recommend this site: www.tftcentral.co.uk/They have excellent reviews =) I hope I've helped and that you find a monitor you're happy with. A monitor will most likely last you the longest out of all your hardware so it's important to pick the right one for you.
