I could've totally gone for one of those, but they drink fuel as nothing else, they have a slidey rear, and they're very expensive for a first car. Besides, I still have the Fiero. I might daily that once it's all back into it's former glory, but by then I might aswell sell it. They're worth quite something nowadays. MR2's are quite cheap actually, even here where we pay 105% in registration, but the later gens with the fixed suspension kinda lack the headlights, so it's a question of staying true to the classics and risking to get wrapped around a tree or look like someone who only gives a damn about performance. They're not that cheap though, especially as first car. I mean as first car you're not getting a 5k car "just for the fun of it." Right? Or Im just cheap lolz

Mostly when you mash the throttle. And loose cars are fun, they drift.

You save fuel by revving low. And I agree FKN BIMMER, but it needs manual transmission though.
Manual is so proletarian. DSG or GTFO, peasants.
Didn't they actually revert back to manual in the 911R compared to the gt3's semi automatic #caseclosed

They talked about it, I didn't think they had. But it was cited as for "emotional" reasons since it's slower and less efficient.

Yes, emotional cos' we can do sick burnouts and drifts without burning the centrifugal clutch. But gearing will always be slower than no gearing, EV LIFE. Koeniggseggseggsigeggseggseggssegssegg regera doesn't have gears either though. Isn't double(/triple?) clutch flappy paddles the fastest actually?

Fastest is a CVT. But it is undoubtedly hellishly boring to drive.

Didn't they only come with manual gearing and full auto? Something else, do you know if it's possible to get an awd golf?

I honestly haven't fully understood how this fancy KDD (Koenigsegg Direct Drive) works, to be honest. But if I get it right it's an in-line electronic+combustion engine couple linked directly by hydraulic coupling to the differential. That'd basically means that compared to a standard automatic drive, they've just eliminated the gearbox and use a hydraulic clutch that is continuously slipping until top speed. (additionally, there are two electrical engines that sit on the left/right differential exit...) It would then be a kind of CVT, but certainly not a classic CVT construction.
