I just had to write this somewhere people will know what I'm talking about, so it's not particularly race or crew specific just a general thought I had about the game. I was on reddit/(gtaonline) today and I saw that basically 90% of the top 5 pages are just people complaining about the prices of the DLC. Bottom line people are fucking pissed about how much everything costs (ruiner2000) I just have to laugh at this mentality, and what it all boils down to, to me, is that no one is forcing anyone to play the game ya know? No one is forcing these people into playing it! Why do they continue to play the game, even though they feel it's too pricey for in game things? Well, the reason is obvious. The game is the most immersive genius game of our times. It's addictive, and very very very fun to play. So yeah, I just wanted to say how fucking annoyed I get at people who complain about things that are their own choice. You actually get it in all walks of life..."I bought a sandwich from such n such store and it cost $10 can you believe it !!! what a rip off" Well, don't go to that fuckin shop again idiot why did you pay for it then complain?! For the record, I love the new DLC. Rockstar really do mess up a lot of things, but guess what? If I felt strongly about it, I would stop playing the game, cos I'm an adult, and no one forces me to play it

This DLC is actually one of my favorites . I'm not that concerned about the prices, as the normal cars are a lot more affordable than those from the previous updates and R* have actually provided us with good and fun ways to make decent money (after an initial investment, off course). They added so much cool stuff and fixed a lot of the problems I had with the stunts and bikers DLC. Updates like this make the car collector and racer in me very happy, which is why I actually bought a shark card for the first time in ages...

I do agree with both of you. What really bothers me about all the people complaining is the fact that they want to have everything ASAP. There's no more "Oh that looks nice and if I want to have it, I must work for it" mentality. Take WoW for an example (I didn't play a lot, but I have a basic idea of the game), some things took dozens of hours to get (f.ex. the flying helicopter) and people still went for it and there was no big complaining. Personally I like what R* did with the prices and they kinda punish people for being impatient (you pay more if you don't do the respective mission).
Sidenote: giving the Hydra and the Lazer limited amount of ammo would probably change a lot of things...

No one is willing to grind, the racing community for example (us) We have all done 1000's (some people 10s of 1000's) of races, that's the grind of it all, I wouldn't have anything in this game had I not done that, I never bought a shark card, but after 3.5yrs of work I have my 60 cars , I have all the appts the biker and ceo shit, I have it all, and it's all down to my hard work, so yes I 100% agree that I just don't have any time or respect for people who claim it's too expensive. Either spend your IRL money, or shut up and get on with the grind ! "Good things come to those who wait" (and work their ass off) Peace.

AMEN brother, AMEN indeed!
Me too,I am a little tired of people moaning about the cost of things in the online version of this game. It's a fantasy mobster sons of bitches bloody environment! So what do you expect? Of course prices will be over the top and it's logical and in harmony with the game philosophy and the economical line at the heart of it and at the end of the day, Rockstar give us two options. 1) Pay for it! 2) Work for it! Like it or not!
Also and it is so true, no one is forcing the general public to play this game.
Good on you mate I liked the reading of your thread.

I totally agree with you. I have questioned myself why I even play the game any more, due to the constant frame drops, sever issues and glitches. But like you've said, Rockstar have got an absolute winner on their hands with GTAO. The game is just far too fucking addicting and fun that you can't stop playing.
As for the DLC itself, I think it's one of the best DLCs of all time, seriously. Why? Well it took all the things that were great about FAFF and took away some of the things that were BS about FAFF.
Also, to all of the people that grind their butts off for DLCs, and put many hours into that... I applaud you.

I disagree! If you dont complain and just take everything as granted, companies will fuck you over even more!
As a customer u have to raise your voice EVERYTIME to EVERYTHING not being ok.
This DLC is alot:
-fun way of earning money, best free roam implementation yet.
-a big fat "fuck you all" from rockstar buy giving us a car stealing business that allows us the steal and "own" a high end car, remove trackers as if its your daily routine. But you still have to go to a legal salesman and buy an overprized car from him? while every other rich guy in LS gets one for max 100k from you?
-yet another overprized DLC. 50€ for a ruiner2000 ? Or gameplay-grindtime that exceeds an average singleplayer campagin of any non sandbox game
GTA is uncomparable, there are no alternatives. I can't just play another game, there is no other game like that and there never will be. So whatever rockstar is deciding to do, we are all going to swollow it! And rockstar decided to make this the most expensive game i ever came across!
So yes! Please complain! Complain everytime and never stop!

The price of the Ruiner is their way of balancing the public freeroam sessions. You don't play the game for the sake of driving a knight rider, but you can - if you're willing to pay. In terms of the "big fat fuck you". I disagree, you can't compare your buy price with what an NPC in theory would have to spend. The game evolves around the player not the NPC, and so the game is balanced in that way. Imagine if you could export cars and earn their market value, you'd be able to buy everything in the game within a week. Is that what you call good game design?!

Perfect analogy. @hiberg You summed that up much better than I could. Some men just want to watch the world burn. Lol.

I don't mind the prices too much, to me the special vehicles seem to be more like items people should aim for as a long goal, and they are quite a bit better in that regard than yachts, golden helicopters, or planes. Though I am a bit disappointed that their use is limited to free roam and that they are significantly weaker than in the missions. But in general I pay more attention to the regular vehicles (because of the reasons above I kinda lost interest in getting tany of the special ones), and the prices there definetly go into the right direction. Comparing the new supers and their prices to the ones from Ill gotten gains these cars could easily have cost half a million more each.

Even though the prices seem steep, I don't see why are some people so low on money. Since Bikers released, I made about 10 mil, with very little game time and very little effort, doing pretty much nothing. Just running the coke business, buying supplies, selling in solo sessions and doing whatever you want has made me so much money I didn't even care about the 4m price tag on the Ruiner. If I actually played the game I could make triple that amount easily.

You guys know what would be a great way for everyone to be happy? Rockstar should give an option for making private lobbies where you can mod and have all the cars you want. Progress obviously doesn't save. This way the casual people that want to have fun with their friends from time to time can have all the stuff they want, and the players that are more invested will grind and buy these cars for a fun public freeroam experience and races. Public freeroam can be lots of fun without hydras or hackers, and I haven't seen those 2 things in a while, so there is still a point to playing public lobbies. And well, for us, the racing community, we need cars for races of course

I expect most of you here have a lot of free time?
I bought this game to have fun, I work to feed myself, keep a roof over my head and enjoy life. I don't want to work in my free time to enjoy this game slightly more than others.
I'm happy to "earn" or unlock parts of a game for satisfaction reasons, but some prices in this game are completely unnecessary. It's known that they are priced in this manner to milk money from us as consumers.
This Dec is far from the worst, but as someone said above, free speech is the right to complain, but the right to ignore. If no one complains, no progress will be made. Rockstar have been greedy with this game, and I will not be paying full price for future games from them in the future, that's for sure.
