There was a thread a year ago but no real interest, hopefully by now there might be some members interested in the NBA?
I'm from the UK so I don't watch the games live but watch the highlights. If you're an NBA fan which team do you support (maybe why also) and who do you think will win the Championship this year?
Myself, I'm a San Antonio Spurs fan, pretty much because on NBA 2K14 MyCareer they were the first team I got drafted with and didn't have a clue about Basketball so started supporting them. Funnily they won the Championship that year and are quite a successful team it turns out lol.
I hope SA Spurs can win this year. Many have GS Warriors to win, but I can sense another choke coming, but in the Conference. OKC are low seeds and if Westbrook starts firing in an early elimination against them they might be out. From the West I think Houstan will come out on top with Harden looking unstoppable this year, although I hope Kawhi can get the Spurs through to the final. Spurs or Rockets from the west imo. From the East I can only see the Cavs coming through that area. But ultimately see them not retaining the title and it going to the West.
Hopefully someone responds to this, because everyone I talk to on slack doesn't care about NBA :pepe:

You definitely picked a strong team to support, the Spurs are a well coached tough veteran team. Disappointing about Tim Duncan retiring before this season started, but I guess it was expected after 19 years in the league. He's a future hall of famer for sure. I followed his career since his college years at Wake Forest back in the day, one of the true all time greats. Good shot again this season for the Spurs, with the pesky Warriors still the main obstacle. Don't ever discount defense though, the Spurs are a better defensive team than practically anyone in the Western Conference. I don't think anyone can beat the Cavs in the East, at least not in a seven game series. The East isn't very strong, as usual. I probably put the NBA fourth on my list of sports I follow, after NFL, MLB, and NCAA basketball, so I'm not the absolute biggest fan but I still enjoy it. Even though I'm basically a Chicago guy all the way around in sports, for some reason I never supported the Bulls, even during the Jordan years. I started rooting for the Lakers as a kid back in the 80's during the showtime era, and just kind of stuck with them. Many good years with Shaq and Kobe winning titles together as well, but now the Lakers are a young team of really immature guys who need to wise up. That's actually putting it mildly, they basically just suck. I stick with my teams though, through thick and thin. It finally paid off when my Cubbies won it all in baseball last season!

Whatever happens, I don't want GSW to win just because of Durant's drama last off-season. While I don't agree with OKC fans on how harsh they try to punish him, the way it was announced and all that was childish and improper in a professional league. Always viewed Durant as a kind of a cool, composed and smart guy, but then he pulled out something similar to 'The Decision' when it comes to seriousness and all that.
I love CP3 as a player, and it pains me to see LAC struggling to keep up with the pace they had for last 2 seasons...

Rip the eastern conference, they got the unicorn and the greak freak (couldnt spell last names so 😂) outside of cavs. The west got westbrick, harden, durant, curry, the donky, paul, griffen, millsap, pg13, lillard, McCullum, jokic, thompson, Leonard, BBB😂, lopez, gobert, gasol, conley, booker, bledsoe, davis, cousins, dirk. So order but yea, the east is dead😂
