1070 no question unless you want to wait until AMD Vega, though what CPU do you run cause in some games it will be the cpu that may be more limiting

a gtx 1070 will be really beefy, but it easily fits your budget. a gtx 1050 ti will get you 60fps on pretty much all games on high settings, but it will be cutting it close especially within a few years. But right now it's the best bang for your buck GPU. a gtx 1060 would be the middleground between the 2.
If buying a new GPU, always get the newest generation. Old gens are always overpriced for what they are worth. When getting a secondhand GPU, the previous gen or second previous gen is usually your best bet.
If you want to spend your budget, a GTX 1070 would be the choice. If you want to save a bit of money get a 1060. If you wanna be cheap-ass get a 1050ti (not recommended) check these benchmarks if you want some info on the cards. Dont bother about the actual values. Just compare them with each other. www.videocardbenchmark.net/compare.php?cmp%5B%5D=3521&cmp%5B%5D=3548&cmp%5B%5D=3595also there are plenty benchmarks on youtube which can inform you about the capability of the cards. This way you can pick whichever card suits your needs. lastly, in some games your CPU might be a limiting factor, for instance in GTA5 where the game is very CPU intensive. You probably wont notice much of an FPS increase in GTA5. But a GPU will always be the biggest decider in FPS, especially when you crank up the settings to high.

You may also get some great deals on 2ne hand gpus. For example, people like me who bought a gtx 980 or 970 just, before the 1000 series came out. I've stuck with mine but it may be really cheap to pick someone else's up.

I've stuck with mine but it may be really cheap to pick someone else's up. you need to be on the right page in the right time for that, most people overvalue their hardware. like, why should I buy a used 980ti for ~400 euros when i can get a 1070 new for the same price, that uses less power, will have longer driver support, and has warranty?
