I dont think racing stock cars would be a good idea, I understand that they are free but they are going to be very slow, especialy the GT2 class. Idealy we could ask everyone how much money they are able and willing to spend for this event and then decide about the class and cars.
We could also do something else, I believe that everyone here has a Sports classic car to race with and that is the Z-type or the Pigalle, some people prefer the Pigalle because its cheaper, easier to drive and they hate the way the Z-type looks, others prefer the Z-type which is ultimately a bit fastest .We could simply allow both cars in the GT1 class to compete, that way everyone gets to drive what they want or what they can afford and it would add a bit more variety too. Those 2 cars are extremely close when it comes to their pace so I guess it wouldn't hurt the competitiveness. ( for those that dont have 1 of these cars, a race-ready Pigalle costs 565,550 )
As far as GT2 goes I believe that the best option would be a Stinger or Stinger GT which are identical when it comes to lap times and look like old GT racing cars so I think it would be really cool if we could race with them. If people cant afford them though (1 million for a fully moded 1) then it would be down to the Roosevelt which is very expensive too ( personally I wouldn't like to race with it) or the Manana which is free.

I'd like the buffalo s for gt2 but I think the coquette would be better for gt1.

And the consensus so far seems to be leaning that way

Also my vote is the buffalo S and the fusillade These are too close in performance we need to cars with difference in speed so in effect we have 2 races within one race gt1 and gt2 Also i have put a link in the OP with the track I'm proposing we use
