[PS4] Vapid vs Bravado Championship - 26th March 6 PM UTC

Welcome to the Vapid vs Bravado Championship, an all American racing event in which we will see a variety of vehicles. There will be nine races of 25 minutes spread out over three weeks, ranging from vans to supercars. In each race there will be one Vapid vehicle and one Bravado vehicle. Despite the name of the event, these cars do not actually race each other, but they are present in the same race, basically representing GT1 and GT2. Drivers may choose to drive a Vapid car each race, or mix it up as they like. There are four championships. One for the best Vapid driver, one for the best Bravado driver, and one overall championship for the best driver. Lastly there is an additional championship for the best team.

Points: Drivers earn points by participating in races. A higher finish obviously earns you more points. Points are scored as follows:

30 - 25 - 22 - 20 - 18 - 16 - 14 - 12 - 10 - 9 - etc - 1. It is unlikely (but not impossible) to have more than 18 drivers in a certain vehicle but if this happens 19th place onwards earns no points.

Pole positions grant an extra two points, while the fastest race lap adds a further three points to your tally, making a maximum of 35 points per race possible.

Qualifying: There will be qualifying for each race. The way to do this is to simply hotlap the tracks on your own and sending me a screenshot of your fastest laptimes. I will only accept screenshots on PSN (Evil_Tuinhek) or on Slack. Drivers who do not qualify will be at the back of the grid, in random order if there are multiple. Run-ups are not allowed. To avoid cheating, video evidence of your laptime will be required, so please record your fastest lap and either upload it or have it ready for upload in case someone doubts your laptime.

Start procedure: The faster car, whether that be a Vapid or Bravado, will start before the slower cars. A sticky bomb or grenade start will set the race off for GT1, after which there is a 15 second delay before another detonation will set off the slower GT.

Pitting: There is a mandatory pit stop for every race. You can take your pit stop on any lap you wish, except the first or last lap. At the pit lane exit, drivers must come to a full stop and remain stationary for 10 full seconds. When rejoining the track, drivers must not get in anyone's way, as this will be considered an unsafe release and penalised.

*** These are special races, in which there is only one manufacturer. If you are someone who wishes to go for a Bravado championship, you cannot score points for that in the Vapid race, and vice versa. However, both GTs in these special races grant maximum points towards that specific championship. So the winner of the Desert Raid race earns just as many points as the Trophy Truck race winner, so choosing your vehicle strategically for these races may prove to be important.
