so here's my final highlights video of the season even though i only joined the championship for the final 4 races, with interest in gee tee ayy dying and competitors dropping out left and right, i can still say that from both as a spectator and racer this season has been one of the best - it went much better than i anticipated, including my first event win as well as my embarrassing driving being broadcast to hundreds of people through the livestream coverage gg's to DaSpekyLegend and MattyH1812 for some great racing moments, equationunequal for organising it and Broughy1322 for bringing it back for the 4th season and being the greatest pitwatcher the xbox side could ever ask for

I found out that Axel got a penalty because of an illegal pit stop. We are talking about entering the pits 15 seconds too early on a track that is approx. 5 mins long. On top of that, the race length was too short. Had the race been one lap longer, Axel could've made his pit legally. We are at a point where penalties are deciding who wins the whole GT2 championship. Where the people deciding the penalties have more power than the drivers themselves. Where people with no influence decides who stays and who does not. I think that it's fair to say, that Broughy1322 Tuesdy and myself are equally worthy of the GT2 Championship trophy. Who's with me?

The marshals can't penalise you if there's nothing to penalise, so follow the rules and they won't have to make such decisions. Then wait the extra time in the pits, pit later, or plan to take an earlier pit, well, earlier. The rules apply to everyone, especially on something as cut and dry as pit timings, so you have to take the penalty if you break the rules. Whether or not someone would lose a position isn't something that should factor into whether or not they get a penalty for pitting early. You say yourself that the pit stop was illegal, and everyone was running the same race even if it was slightly short so the rules should apply evenly. This isn't a jab at Axel, but you can't pick and choose how and when rules this basic are enforced, otherwise there's no point in even having the rule in the first place.

I fully understand that rules are rules and that they apply to everyone. But both Merphos and I had this problem where it was simply impossible to do our 3rd pit on time, even though we should've had plenty of time to get it done. Merphos took his 2nd pit after 60 minutes, and I took mine after 63 minutes. In both cases there should've been plenty of time left to get the 3rd pit done. But since the race was 18 laps (not sure how that was calculated so poorly) it was impossible to take the 3rd pitstop legally. Of course I will accept the penalty, but I will mention it when discussing the reports and of course Broughy, Brady and I won't be involved in that decision.

Am I complaining?... whatever:)). mhm It even states in the rules "Number of laps equivalent to an approximate 1 hour 30 minutes race in GT1. So, of course, + - 90min, but the race was only about 85mins long for the GT1 winner, which is a fair bit off. Enough to say that the race was miscalculated and should at least have been 1 lap longer

Not me, you should calc your pits to take into account the length of the track & race. They have made a mistake and have paid the price, simple. Seems a habit of yours to complain about rulings. Of course you should and the official length of the race is 90 minutes, not 85 minutes. I have always planned my pits with the expectation of the race lasting 90 minutes, like it has done for every other race and you can see that I have never received a penalty for a mistimed pit (or anything else for that matter). The spreadsheet says 'approximately 1h 30m' but in my opinion, for the race to be 5 minutes short, which in this case was a whole lap, is not an acceptable amount of leeway. As axel said, I pitted for the second time on minute 56 of the race (race started at 4 minutes on the timer), which would have left a perfectly adequate amount of time to do my final pit had the race been 1 lap longer as it should have been. I would argue that the penalty in mine and axel's case should at least be less severe than usual. Personally it doesn't bother me that much because it doesn't change my result in that race as the gap to 2nd is far greater than the penalty I will receive for it. However, I can understand why ymerogco aka R-Amores is very frustrated on potentially losing out on the GT2 championship after a great performance today because the race was a whole lap shorter than it should have been.

I have already mentioned but my first penalty on ron raceway was very harsh, hitting someone who had collided with the person in-front of him is penalty worthy, if it wasn’t for that and we take away axels pit penalty me and ymer would be on the same points with the same amount of race wins but me with more second places. I can understand the frustration with the race length today but everyone else seemed to manage their pits correctly. The person who should feel the worst about this championship is broughy if it wasn’t for the ddos this wouldn’t have even come into question. I had dealt with my penalty so should everyone else.
Also GG to broughy and ymer on a great season and it’s annoying to see it end this way.

The penalties the entire season were pretty strict and straight forward. I don't see a reason to change that for the last race.
Race was 86 min, is that a little too short? Yep but so what? Mistakes happen. This one is unfortunate but it happened.
It was easy enough to time the pit stops despite missing out on 5 min of racing time. Everyone except 2 people got that done correctly, so these 5 min rly can't serve as excuse. (Btw, Mike could have just as well passed Axel with an extra lap...., so don't use those 5 mins as argument pls and thx). And like mentioned above by someone else, there is always the option to wait the time when you've come in a few seconds too early, which wasn't done here. A penalty is justified.
This whole discussion wouldn't even take place if it wasn't for the championship. Without that relevance, the penalty would have been given without any bigger words about it.
I'd advise the people who decide this to stick with the scheme of enforcing the penalties strict and straight like in the previous races and not make some stupid exception out of it.

Doing 18 laps instead of 19 was my mistake, sorry for that! I always base the lap count on the fastest times of our GT1 drivers and with the North Loop being such a long track I rounded down instead of up so that we wouldn't run late and affect the start time for PC. I didn't realize that it would have an impact on people's pit strategies, as I always plan mine during the race, not before...

GG to MikeBWFC for the battle in the early stages and then AjAxel10 for that battle mid race! Also, GG to Broughy1322 for dealing with my mind-games, but obviously not dealing with them enough since he failed to beat me in the three races I did

Of course it ends like this.
The points will be as they are at the end of the season after penalties have been applied in the same way as throughout the season. It's impossible for it to be any other way. You make an exception for one race then other races/situations come into question and it all falls apart.
I agree that over the course of things myself, Ymer and Mike have been very closely matched, but that's why we're so close at the top of the standings. Ultimately there has to be one winner. All three of us have had very good races, very bad races, made mistakes and taken penalties. The beauty of a championship is that usually at the end of a season those things average out and the better man is on top.
I don't feel that's the case this season for GT2 on PS4. Had it not been for a malicious act in the closing stages of round 7 by someone completely unrelated to anything we're doing here, I would've won the championship and this conversation would have been moot. There are many races I could've done better to render it irrelevant anyway, but I didn't and the one thing I didn't want to happen did - me being DDoS'd cost me a championship. Something completely out of my control, in the final three laps of one of my better races despite my circumstances at that time, and it had an effect. This isn't like a DC or being penalised. This is where you've been singled out and targeted in order to ruin your experience. Trust me when I say you can't imagine how that feels, and when you lose a championship because of it, it compounds it even further. That's something I now have to deal with.
So I apologise for any transgressions anyone may be feeling, but I can't offer too much sympathy given the above. We'll go through everything like we usually do and whatever happens is what happens.
GG to everyone on PS4 for the great racing we saw throughout, and everyone in GT2 - I enjoyed our races.
