G.L.E.N - seeing that there are some very fast and also some very slow (i.e. myself) drivers, I think it would make sense to do this event in non-contact mode to avoid any kinds of collisions. (Of course only if everyone has their own Retinue - which they should have, because the car is bae) What's your (and everyone else's) opinion on this?

I would vote for contact racing because of authenticity, but I can see where Abe is coming from. It could be very frustrating if you always start behind slower drivers, which is something the grid algorithm isn't factoring in (makes no sense for it to do that for normal racing anyway). So since the algorithm isn't really doing it's part on keeping the playing field fair, maybe we could do grids differently, for instance with faster drivers at the front and slower drivers at the back - but we'd obviously need a way to do that. Also, since we're doing all the races on one day there isn't much time to do grids say by laptimes, the Broughcar championship is a prime example for that.

We could do a qualifying session before the first stage, and order the drivers according to their finishing stage positions on the latter stages. Although messing around with the starting order might push this fun event dangerously close to the salty tryhard domain

AbeCede The whole point of this event is for it to be as close to a real world rally situation as possible. having contact off would destroy everything about it. i mean why even wait 10 seconds to start? Yes there might be someone if front or behind you at some point but either letting them past or overtaking them with minimal timeloss for both is what you want. Since its not a race for position but time. So don't hold up people faster than you because you will loose time aswell.

What .qlimax wrote makes sense to me. And doing one qualifying session might not be bad as well. Or what if G.L.E.N just decides the starting order for the first race on the fly (he should know who is a fast driver and who is a slow joe), and then use each result of a race as the starting grid for the next one? I can keep track of the finishing positions, and during the intro-lap it will be easy for everyone to get into his place. This would have another advantage: As soon as the last driver almost finishes his hot lap, he can announce that everyone in front of him can finish the cooldown lap (which should be about half the number of drivers), so we don't need to wait too long for each race to end?
