I've been having fun racing, but the car selection is pretty stale in some of the classes. If the cars can help me improve my racing, that's a plus.
Cars I've used: Supers: vagner, xa-21, nero custom Sports: elegy, elegy retro custom, neon, jester (sports), massacro, feltzer Muscle: sabre turbo custom, peewater dominator, coquette blackfin, blade Sports classic: turismo classic, cheetah classic

It seems like you have most of the top tier ones so the won't necessarily be competitive. Super: Tyrus, T20, Turismo R, Zentorno Sport: Comet, Sentinel Classic, Carbonizzare, Seven-70 Muscle: Dukes, Hustler Classics: Savestra, Rapid GT Classic, Torero

I'll give the dukes a try and save the savestra for when I have some money grinded up. I forgot I had the sentinel classic. A friend told me to buy it so we could run sentinel classic races. Maybe my next super will be a zentorno, since I see a few people using them in races too.

Benimi, this is your time to shine! My personal favourites: Supers: Internus. Great sound, difficult snap oversteer but great fun. Sports: carbonizzare. Such awesome mid drive speed boost. But is made from paper, so don't touch anything! Muscle: hustler Hermes. I can't predict what the car does next, but I like it. Classics: Pigalle. FWD, yellow lights, parlez vous français? Compacts: Issi is bliss. Offroad: Bifta Honorary mention: 811 in supers. Such speed. Such meme.

First of all, in my opinion, you should learn how to drive challenging cars first, in this case no other cars should give you too much of a headache when you switch to them. I don't agree with people who says the Feltzer or the Tempesta is a great "learning" car because you'll be fast with it in no time. Onto my suggestions
Tier 1 - Cars that are good for learning and close enough to the main top group: Supers: X80 Proto, Zentorno Sports: 9F, Bestia Sport Classics: Torero, Infernus Classic, Rapid GT Classic, Viseris Muscle: Dominator (both), Coquette Blackfin Coupes: Jackal Compacts: Panto
Tier 2 - Fun cars close to the main top group: Supers: Nero (regular, because it can do everything the Custom can, and look good at the same time), Cyclone, Turismo R, ETR-1, Entity, Visione Sports: Schafter V12, Neon, (regular) Jester, (regular) Massacro, Revolter, Elegy Retro Custom, Comet, Verlierererererrerererererererrerer Sport Classics: Cheetah Classic, Retinue, Sevestra Muscle: Yosemity, Dukes, Ruiner, (regular) Sabre Turbo, Gauntlet RC, Hustler, Hermes Compacts: Brioso
Tier 3 - Fun off pace cars: Supers: Voltic, Adder, Bullet, Vacca, 811, Reaper, Cheetah, GP1, Banshee 900R, Sultan RS Sports: Omnis, Sultan, Tropos, Kuruma, Khamelion, Ruston, Coquette, Carbo, Raiden, Schwartzer, Futo, Drift Tampa Sport Classics: Casco, Mamba, Coquette Classic, Monroe, Pigalle, GT500, 190z Muscle: Tampa, Vigero, Buccanier, Gauntlet, Stalloin, Hustler, Faction (it is really fun, not very effective tho) Coupes: F620, Windsor Compacts: Blista, Prairie, Issi, Dilletonte
This is what I could remember from the top of my head. I might extend the list later. Have fun out on track.

When I use the pisswater dominator too much, I tend to take corners slower in other vehicles because I start to compensate for the lack of corner traction. When I use my nero custom and xa-21 too often, and switch back to the vagner, I also lose speed since the vagner can take corners much faster than the former two.

The Specter Custom and Reaper can be fun imo. For offroad or rallystyle races the Dune Buggy and Retinue. Just for fun, will probably not win any races the Monstertrucks and Duneloader. Oh and of course the Tropos and Omnis for most Rallystyle races.

Try taking the spoiler off your PissDom. Puts it on pace with the muscle cars below, and it's a real fun challenge to control! As for supers I love to use the turismo R as its barebones racing at its finest

I'm fairly new to racing myself, as I only watched streams for the last couple years, but here's my experience so far. I'm not that good in general and it's very difficult to handle the quicker cars, so fun can quickly turn into frustration.
For my first super I got the T20, still the one I can handle the best.
Then I got the GP1 just for the looks but found myself using it on some races, slow but it seems very stable so it's easier for me to take risky lines, and the top speed is not bad so if I don't screw up the line it's possible to keep up with the quicker supers.
Recently I got the Itali GTB and I would say that's the most fun, It's difficult to keep it together.
As for sports, I can definitely say sentinel classic is my favorite, I've had really good luck with it and even though it is difficult to control for me, I rarely mess up in it.
Also I recently got the comet retro custom, I have a lot of trouble controlling it but when I do it's fun, but if I mess up then it's very difficult to get back together as it just keeps spinning out.
Also I enjoy driving some slower cars like sentinel xs in coupes and blista in compacts, it allows me to not worry as much and I have time to react better. Too bad in my limited experience most races are sports/supers and most people pick top cars in every race so it can get a bit boring sometimes. There's plenty of other fun things to try, for example I had a lot of fun doing warrener in the rainy night with just one other person.

The 9F has pretty much always been recommended as a challenging car that will teach you to drive in this game. It's also pretty good at kerb boosting and brake boosting, if you want to figure that out.

Actually, I got a kuruma for rally races.
Intentionally gimping my car is also a logical way of improving.
I haven't tried to use any variants of the comet at all. I got sick of driving the comet from gta 4, where all I did was use the phone code to call it for every mission, lol.
I've tried the 9F. It's very slippery in high speed corners. It's almost like a muscle car.

Another good idea can be signing up to events that use a car or cars that you're not familiar with.
That way you won't be gimped in competitiveness as everyone will be using similar vehicles, but it gives an excuse and opportunity to put some time in with a car you might not otherwise have used and might not know how to get the most out of right away.

Another good idea can be signing up to events that use a car or cars that you're not familiar with. Or simply the "Staggered Start" playlist on Sundays. Drive any vehicle and be competitive nevertheless. Heck, even on normal day playlists you might find someone who is willing to drive the same car as you - if you ask for it. And if you'd like to try a new vehicle that you don't own, then borrowing cars from other players is quite common in the daily playlists too. Lastly, try some compact cars for a change. There's a really C🤡🤡L event coming soon!
