Nah I deliberately made it like this. Assists are obviously less common than goals, so it shouldn't matter if they give the same amount of points for midfielders.
And I don't think it's subjective at all. I use Soccerway for the points system and 99.9% of the time the players they give the assists to are completely correct.
So I don't see a reason to change that aspect. I have a few things I would like some input for though.
- I need a new website to indicate player positions (DEF/MID/ATT). If you have a good suggestion, let me know here and I'll take a look.
- Goalkeepers should get more points, since they are now basically just defenders who can't possibly score points for goals or assists. So I'm thinking of giving them more points for clean sheets. Thoughts?
- I'm thinking of dropping the Dutch league for the next season. Anyone opposed to this? And if I do drop it, should I replace it with another or leave it at the seven top leagues?

Thats cool, thought you'd say that -I'm happy with transfermarkt tbh, I've got used to the database now - Yes I agree on goalkeepers, maybe like 7/8 points for a clean sheet. -I'd look at maybe the Turkish League in its place

Squawka is a great site for positions to be determined, I’ve rarely found one I disagree with. They do well in differentiating advanced and defensive wingers too, e.g. Bale is a forward as he’s very advanced whereas Hazard is a midfielder as he’s very much part of a midfield. It’s a good site for positions imo

We definitely need to change from Transfermarkt positions I'd say, maybe try Squawka like Cam said or WhoScored.
As for dropping the Dutch League I agree with this but I think we should replace it or we'll be limited for picks even more. The EFL Championship seems like the best replacement as it's a competitive league with more well known clubs and players than the other alternatives like the Turkish League. Using the Turkish League would just be the same as the Dutch League. The Championship does have 24 teams which means there are substantially more games than some of the other leagues so maybe limit Championship players to 2 per person, or 1 if you're being strict, don't think we should get 3 picks though.

I would be totally fine with WhoScored or Squawka for positions. Taking out the Dutch league isn’t fully necessary, but it wouldn’t really hurt anything to do so. I think keepers should get 5-6 points for a clean sheet, but 6 would be the max imo. As keepers start consistent games, making clean sheets worth too much would make them far more important than players like fullbacks, who would have goal involvement but get rotated fairly often.
Also i see you danny trying to sneak the Championship in there since you’re probably one of the only people that follows it religiously xd

Also, I’ve never noticed an issue with assists being counted inconsistently. I use SofaScore to keep track of my team, and I’ve never noticed an assist it said I got not being given by Evil with Soccerway.

There's quite a few NoDo members who support Championship clubs. I won't be following the Championship religiously next season anyway, only followed it because my team were in it.

Yes I think Squawka should be used for positions, the website is easy to use. Also I feel like last season with the exception of a few like De Bruyne and Fekir, Midfielders were at abit of a disadvantage because most Wide players were categorized as Strikers. This makes it a little more fair.
Edit: Also I think anywhere between 12-16 players is easily enough, it speeds the draft part up and it means a larger pool of free agents which i think will keep more people involved this time. I think the thing that made some lose interst last year was the whole having to dig deep to find gems. This time it won't be as much

However if everyone else thinks it is I don't mind switching to something else. But Squawka is such a horrible website. The website is extremely slow, has a terrible layout, Russian league seems to be missing, and it's just not user friendly at all. It looks like it is mainly set up for users who're looking for Premier League info, and not for other European leagues. I think WhoScored would be much better and the positions seem to be pretty much the same on both websites, apart from a few exceptions. I would honestly consider not participating because I cba to do research on that website.

Yeah I’m cool with Soccerway, just anything where theres a little more consistency with positions, also what will the time allowed to make your draft pick be?

Transfermarkt: Hmm whats that? You play at the side of the pitch, not in the centre? You must be a striker!
Yeah Squawka has no Russian League and layout is shite like mentioned above.
Soccerway seems the best imo.

We're waiting number 14! With regards to Goalkeepers, I think maybe 7 points for a clean sheet and then everything else stay the same. It emphasizes the importance of a GK and maybe will make some reconsider their draft strategy. Last year I just avoided them till the last few rounds and didn't feel any worse for it.

Yeah I agree now based on the fact I’ve made my spreadsheet based on Soccerway lol
