Hey everyone, I was interested in asking this question. What game started your love for racing ? For me it would probably be NFS Underground.

I think the first ever racing game I played was probably one of the first Gran Turismo games on the PS1. Loved playing that game as a kid.
Never really been in to racing games though. I recently got really in to them when I picked up Dirt 3 when it was free on Steam a couple years ago, and then got in to Dirt Rally. Also picked up F1 2015 recently when it was free on Steam, but it kinda sucks without a wheel, which I don't have.
I used to play GTA5 on the Xbox 360 when it first came out and I loved just playing the races on it, but it got to the point where basically every single game had trolls and scumbag drivers in it that would push you off. I came here to get away from that now that I got GTA5 on the PC recently.

My first racing game that I played was Driveclub on the PS4, I didn't play any race games before that. Because I'm only 14 years old now and the PS4 was the first gaming console I got. I've played some racing games on the Wii, but those weren't too special. The graphics in Driveclub are just amazing, and that made me really start to love racing.

For me it was actually GTA Online ;-; I didn't know anything about racing and wasn't interested in racing at all until I started playing GTA Online, started watching Brough and started to get involved with this community a bit

I think it was Collin McRae Rally 2.0, my dad brought this game with a steering wheel when i was like 7 years old, and that was probably my first racing game.

For me it was Gran Turismo on PS1. I opened that game and saw there was both an instruction manual, and a reference manual, and i was a bit confused. No game ever needed a reference manual before, what nonsense was that? Then I opened it, and it was about 20 pages of explanations and illustrations describing real car physics, and driving techniques to take full advantage of weight distribution, downforce, etc. And then playing the game, the cars actually did respond just like the reference manual said they should, real life driving techniques actually worked.Keep in mind this was in the era when racing games mostly used 3 buttons: gas, brake, and power slide. And brake was optional.

the original collin McRea rally games were the first push in the right direction, But it was definitely NFS underground 2 that made me fall in love with racing games.
