(talking 'bout the lefthander @ mt. Haan during the practice run?) if so and I remember correctly you were the 2nd, me 3rd. I couldn't brake in time, and spun you out. Was indeed a little confusing, and I didn't really know what to do, so I just waited. No, but something similar happened between Trooper ( Trooper51) (3rd) me (2rd) and JamieJones77 (1st) in another race (I think it was called over the hump). I had to take the line of Trooper, which forced him to break or ram me. He thought that my action was illegal and therefore felt the right to continue straight into me.

Nobody ever has the right to plough right through anybody for whatever reason. He should've at least try to avoid it one way or another (moving, or if that's not possible braking) However if you moved into HIM, and spun out because of that move, AND he tried to avoid it, he's not to blame imo. But it's not always that clear at the moment something like that happens to make the correct call.

But in general I think that It was me who made the mistake, but I didn't really have a choice, since I had to respect Jamie who was in front of me. Anywho I guess that's what you call a racing accident :-)

I been doing the daily race lobbies on PC for about 2 weeks now and I love it, great fun racing with people that most of which, are better than me, so I've got serious competition. The sad thing is though the first lap of pretty much every race is a 50/50 chance that my race will be completely ruined. Most of the time on the first bend or the first bend that is quite the turn, I see people just going in, flat out, without care of braking, I also feel that I'm made to look bad because I go in real close and brake just enough so I'm not touching the cars in front of me, but then someone goes flat out into me making me crash into the cars in front. I could do what some of the other (faster) drivers do which is pull off and let the pack destroy itself and pass through, but I love pack racing, that's one of the biggest reasons I joined up, to have plenty of people to race against, the more the merrier. Besides winning a race, there's not much more satisfying in a race than racing close-knit with several other drivers around a good track.
There's also instances, especially the last few days, where I was shunted/spun out and the person who did it just carries on. The worst I've had so far was when I slowed right down to cut the apex on a really tight bend, another car just came flying in on the inside and shunted me right off into a walled off driveway, basically using me to get around the bend quicker, then they carried on without hesitation. I had to then wait for a lot of cars to pass me by then as it was unsafe to return to the track since it was walled off on both sides, giving limited space for track re-entry.
I'm not naming names because I don't want to be that guy, but I think I'm going to have to start streaming or something so I got proof of this kind of stuff so I don't have to say anything, just show it.

Vixtro I share your sentiments regarding certain incidents recently, I can't count the amount of times I've been shunted wide, off the course, or into an indestructable barrier over the last few days of racing, and while the longer serving and more experienced racers here do follow the rules regarding such accidents, an alarming number of what I can only guess are newer players have started to appear and simply seem to throw those rules out the window, and instead of them being genuine accidents I can only surmise that there is either intent or just plain reckless abandon since people just punt you off line/course and carry on. When you're anywhere above the middle of the pack the racing stays clean from my experience, but it's all too easy to have your race ruined from the first lap if you don't start near the front or there's incidents in the early turns. This wasn't the case when I joined a very short while ago, where even starting at the back you had a really good opportunity to race your way up in proper fashion. I'm not going to pretend I haven't caused my fair share of accidents, indeed I'm sure many people hate trying to get past me, or hate me trying to pass them, I make mistakes on every track, but I always try and make sure to correct those mistakes and let people pass me back if I think there's even the remotest possibility I've caused an issue, and try my best to make sure I rejoin safely if I have occasion to. Now while I'm sure I haven't rectified every mistake I've made, so far as I'm aware nobody has had cause to complain directly about things I've done on track, or at least if they have then they haven't spoken to me directly about anything. There's a reason I called myself a mobile roadblock in my intro thread, and that's because I don't like going backwards through the pack, nobody does, and I probably have caused people trying to pass me some brown trouser moments when I move for the corners, but if I notice a car coming up quick and there's a chance that car will dive for the inside I do try and leave as much room for them as possible without compromising the line I've chosen too much. This can be very tricky on circuits you're not versed in and especially so for me if the roads are bumpy since as a newer player that only started on PC I can never be quite sure that the car isn't going to take me in an unintended direction. I know of one occasion where I didn't quite leave the room required and someone got caught on the tires on a downhill hairpin on the North Loop, I realised I'd made an error in my car positioning and slowed along the next straight so as to let the couple of cars pass that got caught up because of it, I'm not 100% sure of who it was that was most directly affected as I was accelerating out and only saw a nose appear and then instantly disappear again before I noticed one of the dots on the minimap had stopped, by which point there was more than one car in the corner so I plain couldn't tell who was who. It's entirely possible in this situation that the person most directly affected wasn't one of those cars I let pass me, I have no way of knowing due to the circumstances. As some of the more experienced racers will have noticed, especially if they're riding my rear pretty hard for more than a few turns, I will on occasion intentionally run wide through a corner or pull off-line to let them pass safely, I know I'm losing a position that is rightfully mine in this situation but rather than hold up a faster driver I'll give them the opportunity to get clear air and try my best to follow them and their lines so as to better learn the tracks and be able to see first hand if a particular line is faster, and if I'm able to keep pace, I'll often battle to get that position back if I see an opportunity to do so. While this might not be everyones idea of practice, I feel that I've learned more about both the tracks and the various cars' handling potential by letting faster drivers pass and trying to keep pace rather than holding them up and potentially causing an issue. Having said all that, and despite the issues of the last few days that have spoiled races for me, I've really enjoyed the little time I've had here so far, even managing a few wins here and there against some seriously tough opponents, and while I know I'm still far off the pace when it comes to the main tracks that get used, I feel I'm learning, getting better race by race, and will try my best to continue to do so for as long as you'll have me. And now, since I've just gotten home from a 10hr shift at work, and have been up for a little over 30hrs, I'm going to go get some sleep.

Vixtro Streaming or making videos to prove people are dirty racers is not the answer. If you want to record for the hell of it go ahead but its the same as naming and shaming when you upload content with the sole purpose of showing a specific driver causing an accident. Its also not valid proof when it comes to racing incidents. Unless they are blantantly pitting you we will chalk it up as lag most of the time unless there are multiple reports from different people having the same issue. Vixtro and method0ne if you are having issues with players you should try your best to work things out between the two of you in a CIVIL manner. Do NOT just message them calling them a dirty racer and talking shit. Think if it was the other way around and you were being accused of dirty racing due to lag. Thats not a good way to start the convo. Instead try to point out what happened and what you saw on your screen and just recognize that lag on this game is atrocious on top of the fact that no one is perfect and accidents sometimes just happen. If no compromise can be met then you can contact a commissioner and we will help you sort the issue. In the event you have irrefutable proof of dirty racing you should make your video UNLISTED and link it when making your report to a commish. Under no circumstance should you make such content public. We arent a reality TV show so we like to check the drama at the door and work things out like adults. Its also worth noting that using mics make a massive difference in the experience you have online. Mostly due to lag and being able to communicate whatever you need to while its still relevant. I know a lot of people dont use mics except on the xbox side but it makes a big difference being able to speak to the person immediately while you are racing. Messaging people after a race usually just builds up animosity between members (bc usually people arent civil like I suggested you try to be) and no amount of words can reverse time. The race is over and no one can do anything to make it right at that point, except say sorry. So you might aswell just say "Hey man you took me out at _____ part of the track. Just letting you know" anything more than that is pretty much pointless.

Recording races of dirty drivers is good for evidence to send into a commissioner. But you should try to sort out the issue before you go to those measures. There could have been lag or the guy might not know he has to wait.If it continues however just send the clip into a commissioner and say it's a continuous problem. Then if you're right you should see some results(commissioner talking to or even as a last resort kicking the person).Don't just sit there or call them out over it,take action by dealing with them directly and communicating with them or a commissioner if it goes that far(don't expect a commissioner to just see what is happening and do something about it,there's only a few). Also just some advice to people.Look both ways before rejoining a track, even if it wasn't your fault you went off.Massive accidents are caused by peoples unwillingness to check the road is clear before rejoining the races.

Unless they are blantantly pitting you we will chalk it up as lag most of the time unless there are multiple reports from different people having the same issue. I quickly decided after my first stream (which was on the 10th) that I'm simply not going to bother uploading any videos. There's not really any point, I'll just take matters into my own hand from now on. Vixtro and method0ne if you are having issues with players you should try your best to work things out between the two of you in a CIVIL manner. Thats not a good way to start the convo. Instead try to point out what happened and what you saw on your screen and just recognize that lag on this game is atrocious on top of the fact that no one is perfect and accidents sometimes just happen. I understand the networking code in GTA V is quite terrible, it's p2p, no such dedicated servers so it's always hit and miss, I also have a good eye for lag/warp. It should be all the more reason that people should not dive-bomb into a pack or cut people up on the inside of a turn. On another note, a few times since racing with NoDo, I've seen people crash out in front of me that look like I might have hit them on their screen, although I was nowhere near them on mine. I had always asked those people after a race if I hit them on their screen, never got a reply (unless they said it to me in voice chat) so I assume I was in the clear. Its also worth noting that using mics make a massive difference in the experience you have online. Mostly due to lag and being able to communicate whatever you need to while its still relevant. Just letting you know" anything more than that is pretty much pointless. I had voice chat on the first few times racing with the PC NoDo folk, but it quickly got bothersome since some people were either too loud or too quiet. Since there's no way to normalise the audio levels for voice chat, I prefer to just keep it off. This is nothing personal, I'd be happy to talk if we were to use something like Teamspeak in which I can adjust everyone's voice to equal levels. This leads me to my next point, in the PC version I think R* should add a notification in lobbies next to people who have voice chat disabled, I can't help but feel I'm missing out on a lot of the discussion, I would love to talk, but for the reason I stated above it's disruptive to my racing. If I could quickly toggle it on just for the lobbies and then off again for a race, that would help, but yeah, this is a R* game.....

I'll just take matters into my own hand from now on. Within reason I hope. The commissioners are here for a reason Im just saying dont go uploading every last accident and expect us to kick people. A lot of people seem to think any time another car touches them a video needs to be uploaded and Im just letting you know thats not what we want to see. Talk it out, again civilally, if you need us we are here though. And obviously clear intentional pitting is completely accpetable to upload, again as an UNLISTED video. Examples of this would be driving the wrong direction on a track, blocking the track, blantant pit manuevers ect.

Ok, so I've been in this situation a couple of times, where person A (Mr Blue) will be completely stopped as I come up behind him at full speed. I move over to pass him, but with his tiny amount of speed, he cut me off. Now, at this point there is nothing I can do to avoid a collision, which, conveniently for Mr. Blue, gives him the boost he needs to get back in the race, and I am left wondering if that was legal. I don't think it is, but I wanted to get your guy's opinions.

Mr. Blue closing the door so you cant get a pass done is simply smart. The only problem I see is if Mr. Blue moves to left to defend and then back to the right when you adjust your line for the pass. You get one move to defend. No more, no less. Weaving to block is most certainly illegal but 1 move to defend is not. IF and only if Mr Blue maintains the lead going into the next turn may he slowly return to the racing line. However that sort of scenario really only happens on straights. Generally you wont have the time to make a denfensive move, realize your opponent hasnt got the speed to pass AND make return to the racing line around consecutive corners. Pretty much have to have a straight for that to happen. If they arent weaving to block and only make one move you have to recognize that counter their defensive line. He moves left to defend the best line, you move right and use your overspeed to get the pass done and vice verse.

You dont have to make a pass the second you catch up with someone. He's already rattled from a crash, bide your time until the time is right. Patience is a virtue.
