So far I have made 2 races called "Scavenger Hunts", which are based on the Unordered Races of the Midnight Club series of street racing games where you have a set of checkpoints around the map and you can get them in any order, taking any route you want. The trick is you need to plan out a route in your head as you go, or you can set a waypoint and risk losing several seconds each time you do so.
Sadly in GTA Online you can not have a race with a random checkpoint order, so I just had to go with scattering a few points all around an area of the map that are far enough apart and in interesting enough spots that make several routes seem plausible as a good way to go. I think this has a lot of potential, but I have not gotten to test it with many people and when a random joins these races they just crash their car and quit..

Anyways, here is the first race which takes place all over LS, and you start at ULSA and need to go to a Cul de Sac in Vinewood Hills, the canals, the dam in the Tatavians, Grove Street, and then end up at the pier. It's hard to make these races in the city though because it is so easy to find a good path downtown thanks to the good city planning, so I made a second one in Blaine County..

Scavenger Hunt V2 has more of a theme going on than the first. In this race, you need to plan a route from Sandy Shores Airfield to the top of Mount Gordo, the top of Mount Josiah, the top of Mount Chiliad, then you need to fall down Mount Chiliad to the finish line in Paleto Bay. This race is obviously much longer but I think would be a bit more interesting. Obviously all of these sorts of races would be interesting, especially with a lot of players to see where everyone goes. i intend to make all of these sorts of races able to hold 16 players as well for maximum fun. I hope some of you guys give my race a go, I will probably join myself if I see an invite, and I hope you also give feedback on the idea or on a possible location for a new race. Thanks!
