Since the first thread provided a great platform to discuss the F1 last year, thought I'd make a new one for the upcoming season. If you're as much of an F1 as I am feel free to share your thoughts, predictions and well anything relevant to F1 I am super excited for the season to get underway. My prediction for the title battle would be the Mercedes boys, Bottas, Daniel 'the overtake' Riccardo and possibly Alonso / Vettel depending on the strength of their cars this year. Ferrari have been topping the time sheets during practice. At first I thought "oh no, back to the Vettel years again" but then I found out Ferrari topped the time sheets last year while Merc were in the middle but focused on their consistency and reliability.
I say Hamilton has it again this year. It might not be the walk in the park like last year because Ferrari, Red Bull and Williams will start to close the gap but they won't overtake it.

I definitely fall into the casual class of fan, but the races I did get to watch weren't very competitive. It'd be nice to see the other constructors make it tough for MB.

I have to say as a Hamilton fan that he will win It again this year, but I think that it will be very close between Hamilton, Ricciardo, and maybe Alonso.

I think Ferrari have definitely made steps forward, but Mercedes have got the first half of the season wrapped up assuming they can tackle there reliability problems. They managed 516 laps in Jerez, which is a record for first season testing. I really can't see any of the other teams pushing them at all. Until the next round of testing it would be hard to say where the battles are coming from, but I suspect McLaren will be quite off the pace this year!

I personally think it will be a dual between Mercedes and Williams this year. Although, as a Ferrari fan, I was hoping Ferrari could get a Drive's Championship this year.

I think it will another fight between Mercedes because they looked strong in testing. Also interested as to what McLaren Honda can do.

All signs point to them still attempting to catch up to Mercedes, Williams, Red Bull and Ferrari. Shame really, I like the two drivers, I'm generally a McLaren fan and with Honda back as engine supplier I'll be cheering them on even more this year.

There is this misunderstanding that Ferrari have a very fast car this year, yes they have defenitaly improved but Mercedes was runing with full fuel load going for reliability and Ferrari wasnt.
I belive this will be a very interesting season, so many changes. I would really like to see how Vettel does at Ferrari and I am sure Kimi will perform much better this year. Ferrari should be battling for 2nd with Williams and Red Bull (very fresh driver line-up but defenitaly can be effective) the way I see it. I am not confident Mclaren will be ready to challenge the trio above just yet (although as a Mclaren fan I hope they do) , the Honda engine is brand new but with such experienced drivers onboard they have to cath up dont they? Also interested to see how Lotus will do this season, last season was an absolute disaster for them but now the have Merc's power unit and you gotta remember that they were very competitive at 2013, defenitaly dont excpect them to get to that level again but they will probably be mid-pack now.

The tests aren't really a true representation of the pace of the cars, compared to others. We'll have to wait until the 1st race in Melbourne to really get a gauge on who is the fastest.
