Hello everyone.
I've recently spoken with some crew members and it seemed to me that NoDo craves competition. There have been talks of a NoDo tournament by Broughy, we have a LSGP leaderboard here, and I've also heard a ladder between NoDo members would be a nice addition.
And today, ZeNzI and I talked about this : Nonchalant Dominance VS Stream Racers. Broughy's crew would face Gun1t's crew.
So how would that work ? We don't know yet, and that's why I'm posting this thread now, to get your attention and opinion. Here are a few questions, so that we know what works and what doesn't :
1* Participation
Are you interested by this competition ? Will you be a part of it ?
2* contest style
How would this tournament work ?
-Would we just get a few racers from both clans (8 NoDo, 8 GGGG max) in one big playlist and the one / three / five top-ranked players at the end of the list make their crew win ?
-Would we have a FIFA would cup style competition, with 8 groups of 4 contestants played as round robins, then a "direct elimination" series of duels, where it's everyone for himself ? (which would combine both competitions in one : the inter-crew, and a NoDo VS NoDo tournament)
-Would we get a list of 10-15 NoDo members and an equal number of Stream Racers, and each player would face everyone from the other crew once in a 1v1 duel ?
-Etc.
3* Maps
Which one ? How many ?
-Rockstar-made ? Rockstar Verified ? Both NoDo races and Stream Racer tracks ? A combination of NoDo, GGGG and Rockstar tracks ?
-Just one playlist, or several mini-playlists featuring 3, or 6 maps ?
-3 maps per round / duel ? An entire playlist ?
-In case of a race made by the opponent crew, can a player pick another race from that same crew to reduce the advantage ?
-Etc.
4*Misc.
-How many time between the map selection and the actual start of the contest ? (people may want to practice on unknown maps)
-Would we have a neutral referee who doesn't play and just collects evidences, or can we trust racers to get screenshots ?
-Disqualifications ? What do we do about someone who stops playing GTA, doesn't show up when it's his turn to play, or is blatantly unsportsmanlike ?
-Everything I forgot to mention can be discussed.
The way Zenzi sees this competition, it works like this :
-One playlist, 10 tracks, 5 made from each crew
-At the end of a race, the two NoDo members with the most points add their points together, same goes for the top two Stream Racers ; Only those 4 people count for that race. Then the same is done for every race, with 4 players' points being added after each race to their crew's points.
-The crew with the most points win.
It's simple, quick, efficent. It gets the job done and we can make several of those contests, even once a month.
The way I see this competition, it works like this :
-16 players, 8 NoDo, 8 GGGG
-Every NoDo driver faces his 8 opponents in a duel, and vice-versa, which means eight 1v1 matches per contestant
-3 map per duel : the NoDo track selected by the GGGG driver, the GGGG one chosen by our member, and a third rockstar track picked by mutual agreement from both drivers, all three being from pre-made selections of five races each.
-Best of three maps. One track won equals one point. So it's either 3-0 or 2-1.
-When everyone faced each other, we add the points of every NoDo and every GGGG contestant, and the crew with the most points wins.
It's longer, it looks more official, and it leaves no doubt. Everyone gets to prove their individual worth and plays more.
So, here it is, please discuss and let us know what you think about it.
