I wonder when the bbc will realise that they just lost an incredibly large number of viewers by doing this. it was the only show of theirs that i watched and now have no need for the channel.

May also updated his Twitter profile to say: "Former TV presenter". -BBC.com article posted above.
Could that mean that he's about to end it too? From the interview at May's doorstep it seemed quite apparent that he was unsure of the future and displeased with the current outcome.
What's sad for me is I only started watching Top Gear as the episodes came out this season. And I don't even get to watch all of it. It get's gutted 2 episodes before the end. Shame.
Well, here's to the future of Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond. I hope after the dust settles there will still be some amazing car TV show to watch, whether it'll be Top Gear with different cast or something new with Jezza and company.

How anyone can have a go at the BBC for this 'poor' decision is beyond me, yes they make a lot of money from Top Gear. That doesn't mean the presenters can do as they please, they've been left with no choice but to sack him.
and I agree other TV/Media outlets may look at a new format for these guys, but if the police decide after looking at the report to take action (I'm fairly certain they will) then I don't think anyone will employ Jeremy again, at least not for a long time!

Here's my idea:
Keep Jeremy Clarkson on indefinately, but don't edit out any of the horrible bigoted bullshit he says, also indefinately. Everyone seems to want to watch the show as-is, and I think they ought to be able to keep on doing so (I must admit that I find him entertaining, but in a laughing-at way instead of a laughing-with way).
The BBC is trying to cover it's collective ass (and rightly so), but I think if they were to put a disclaimer at the front of every show saying that Clarkson's views do not in any way represent the views of the BBC or anyone with any sort of human decency that would cover them sufficiently.

Jesus Christ! It's oxygen thieves like these that are giving a bad image to genuine fans of the show. No doubt the media will pick up on this and regurgitate it for a couple more days. Same shit, different day.

I just... But the logic... How do they think... I have to say reading that article has pissed me off. The lack of any kind of compassion from some of those comments is just awful.

The abuse this man is getting has actually made me really angry, he didn't even report Jeremy, he took himself to A&E and then went home! I'm actually in such a bad mood after reading some of the things on social media. The Internet really is an awful place sometimes.

I'm just wondering whether hell be replaced or if the entire show will die on the BBC and start on another channel. I think the best idea would be to take one of the presenters from one of the other top gears like the american Australian or German hosts. I'd like to see tanner foust on there myself

It makes as much sense as blaming a rape victim.

I really don't know what to say about all of this. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter whether you are the cleaning lady or someone like Clarkson, if you assault somebody, you deserve to face the consequences. This could have obviously been dealt with in a more private manner, but it has happened, so let's move forward. Personally, Clarkson was not my favourite presenter. I much prefer James May, more intelligent!
P.S. and to those who are telling the producer to kill himself, you're just stupid Clarkson arselicks.

I don't know... it just seems that the BBC makes some strange choices where it decides to "draw the line"
