It's a new season! We've got us a new title sponsor, and a new race format, too! Stolen from Wikipedia:

Is Kyle Busch not racing this season? He's probably ma favorite. Seems like a real baller, though my knowledge of NASCAR is limited to watching replays on Youtube. Also what's up with the replay you posted? There seem to be no people in the stands. Do so few people actually watch the pickup trucks? Yeah, I don't really know jack shit about NASCAR, as it is an alien sport in the Czech Republic, but if you plan to get Project Cars for PC, I'd be up for some NASCAR racing there.

Kyle Busch is out because of this (#54, goes way off on the left side of the screen): That gave him a right leg compound fracture and fractured left ankle. And yeah, Of the 3 main series, the trucks get the worst attendance, which is a shame, since the racing is sometimes way better than in the other two and it's a great place to see some up-and-coming drivers. I haven't been following Project CARS, so I didn't know they have NASCAR stuff. Maybe I'll check it out.

And Erik Jones just got his first Xfinity Series win. Always nice to see the young, new guys win.

Nearly a month later, 18-year-old Erik Jones had his first official Sprint Cup start last night (subbing for Kyle Busch). What was an amazing run ended like this:
He was running 6th when that happened. He was able to get the car repaired and back on the track, but by then he was 40th (of 43) and 25 laps down.

So, yeah, this happened. (best video I could find.) So, after Kyle Busch was injured for over 4 monthes he just won at Sonoma, amazing Kid and also nice race As much as I may not like him, he certainly earned that win. To be Chase eligible, he needs to finish with an average of 14th or best over the course of the next 10 races. I still don't think he should even have that chance, since he was injured during a non-cup race and missed 1/3rd of the season, but obviously NASCAR thinks otherwise. Also, FFS Jeff, win a race already. Come out of your final season with at least one win.

I hate that this is his last season. I think his crew is keeping him from the front. His pit stop times are slower than the guys that are at the top. He's had some great qualifying efforts...but the slower pit stops are killing him.

He also keeps getting hit with penalties for being too fast on pit road. Speaking of Jeff, Hendrick Motorsports tweeted this: And he's to be on CBS This Morning tomorrow, where he's previously revealed paints. Really hoping it's gonna be that they're bringing this scheme back for a race:
