Finally, a car I'll actually recognize.

Holy shit, that was scary. At the checkered flag, the "big one" happens. One of the cars ended up flipping and going into the catch fence, obliterating both. Car landed upside down, and then got hit again. As far as I've heard, everyone's okay (3 fans being treated for minor injuries).

I can't believe Austin Dillon walked away without any major injuries. 15-20 years ago that could have been really bad. Those safety devices the drivers use really did their job on that one. Super scary crash.

If this was Gen4 (2001ish - 2007ish) then he would've probably gotten killed. With the COT, he would've gotten some injuries.
Love it or hate it, Gen6 is safer than any other car NASCAR has to offer for their NSCS.

Oh my god....this probably is the closest angle that we will have. It's just...so damn scary seeing this video.

Mud Summer Classic was the other night. Eldora's always a fun race. Kinda wish the trucks would go to more dirt tracks. Would be interesting to see the Xfinity and Cup cars do a race or two on dirt, as well. Even if it was a non-points exhibition sort of race.
FULL RACE @ ELDORA (except for stuff that happened during commercials)
(skip to ~11:15 if you want to get to the start of the race)
Dunno how long this'll stay up for. Hopefully NASCAR posts it up on their YouTube at some point.

Thats almost ridiculous, Kyle Busch is really amazing and incredible, won 4 of the last 5 Races and just did 9 Races since he got back from his injury and just won 4 of them, really nice.

Make it stooooop!!! Also "Fun" Fact: Only 3 of the 18 races run so far in the Xfinity Series have been won by drivers earning championship points. 13 have been won by Cup Series Drivers, and 2 won by Erik Jones, who is currently driving Trucks as his main series, though he's only missed two Xfinity races so far.

Well, the Chase is upon us. Still don't like it as a championship system, but whatever.

We're having a decent season, slowly improving over the previous years. Nothing phenomenal, but a win at Talladega or Daytona is a realistic possibility. But from my perspective, as a shop guy whose team isn't in the top 20, its just the point in the year where it starts winding down to post race repairs.

Whose team do you work for, if you don't mind my asking?

Germain Racing. Here's a pic from where I work (literally- my workstation is that table in the foreground). I edited it a bit to be sure I don't show anything I shouldn't. Not the most cutting edge, but we build cars that can match (again literally, we've done high precision scans) the ones built by much larger, more experienced teams with bigger budgets.

Image seems to be broken, though. Good luck for the remainder of the season, and then next season!
