This isn't me trying to create a thread to rant about my political views or try and persuade you. Anyone who replies do not try to persuade people's views as it would just cause arguments. I want to hear your views on the current state of Politics in the UK. For those who don't know, the UK has a coalition government, comprised of Conservatives led by David Cameron PM, and Liberal Democrats, led by Nick Clegg, Deputy PM. I'm 18 in June, so sadly the election is one month before I can vote, but my vote wouldn't really count for much as I would be likely to vote for the Green Party, as environment first for me. My views on recent years, the Labour party put us in a difficult spot with their overspending and the war in the Middle East. Conservatives came in and have done a decent job, reducing the debt, although some costs have arisen. If it wasn't a coalition, I believe we would be better off since the Conservatives could introduce all their policies. David Cameron is a a better leader than most of them, so I wouldn't mind if he got back in. UKIP, not a fan of their views or members. Labour I don't mind their policies, but I HATE ED MILIBAND. Lib Dems are a bit in the middle, don't have any real clear view so I don't want them in, and the Green Party will never get in, so the best I can hope for is the Conservatives. So I want to hear your views on the parties, who would/will you vote for, what is best for the country as a whole, and also what do you think of the parties compared to other countries?
Please don't turn this into a political argument, I'm just wanting to hear your views. If you are not from the UK, how does our politics here compare to where you are from? I will add a poll to see who you would vote for, see what NoDo would vote for in the election.

I don't really follow politics as I'm only 15 and obviously cant vote, and I don't really have a preference, if I could vote, of what party I would vote for. I just don't want to see UKIP in power!

I'm 30 and this is the third general election I've been eligible to vote in and the first one I won't be voting for Labour. I've been a Labour man all of my life and a former member of the party but the party has increasingly moved away from my own views and become just another middle-of-the-road centrist party. I'll be putting my X beside the Green party this year, not just because of their environmental policies but their humanitarian and social policies are also far closer to my heart than any other party fielding a candidate in my constituency.

This was going to be the first election I voted in, but knowing my vote make the slightest bit of difference I don't think I will. Politics is corrupt to the core, if you want to become a politician there's only one way to make your way to the top and that's to get bankrolled by either corporations or unions. I feel bad saying it because a lot of what he says is utter bollocks but Russell Brand is correct when he says if there is no one you see worth voting for, don't vote!
Just my opinion on the matter anyway! I strongly recommend people watch 'An Idiots Guide to Politics' it was a BBC documentary/comedy about the state of British politics and it really put things in to perspective!

the reason the economys doing ok is because the lib dems stop a lot of the tory carzy ideas. id vote lib dem out of the top 3. but i dont vote because nobody represets me. i want faith schools to be abolished where they teach kids in the UK that evolution didnt happen. and i dont want be criminalised for smokin weed, which i do every day. 2 simple policies i need to see and not one party offers these things. im not represented so screw them the out of touch muppets!

The Lib Dems did used to have a policy on decriminalising cannabis but that probably got thrown out when they jumped into bed with the Tories. They're absolutely finished at the election. I think the Greens also have decriminalisation of cannabis policy in their manifesto but I'm not 100% sure.

If it weren't for the fact Nicola Sturgeon wanted Scottish independence she'd get my vote (if I could vote)

If it weren't for the fact Nicola Sturgeon wanted Scottish independence she'd get my vote (if I could vote) She might well be in the new UK government. Labour are never going to win an overall majority, they'll need to form a coalition with the SNP and the very few MPs the Lib Dems will get if they win the most seats and want to form a government. If the Greens one MP keeps her seat, she'll possibly also be thrown in to a coalition Labour government.

I am also 30 and this will be my third time voting for the Green Party.
I will be doing so not just for their progressive environmental stance which I strongly believe in but also their belief in having a public NHS, a public not privatised railway system, a lack of tuition fees, increasing the minimum wage, closing tax loop holes and in my opinion just being all-round more altruistic than any other party.

How can anyone say that evolution didn't happen? If evolution didn't happen nothing would exist....

How can anyone say that evolution didn't happen? If evolution didn't happen nothing would exist.... Academys can teach their own curriculum so its up to whoever pays for the school to be run. Evolution deniers are usually the religious (if not exclusively). Religious schools teach kids evolution is just a theory and push the adam and eve fairytale as a more credible explanation.

Evolution didn't happen. Religions are fake. People are always good. Governments want to kill us all! They're watching us. I'm watching you. We are all racists. Zombie apocalypse will hit in 2015.54. England has the hottest chicks on earth. Everyone in America is smart and knows what's going on beyond their US border. I died 3 weeks ago. Global warming is a lie.
I put in a blank vote, because anarchy is what will save the world. Also it will happen anyway once the zombies come get us.

Not that I'm suggesting you look for any naughty content on the internet, but the hottest glamour models come almost exclusively from UK.

Will be my second election, first time voting for green party for pretty much all the reasons mentioned above. I too have been heavily Labour influenced and they will get my second vote. Made the mistake in the previous elections of voting for Labour as they promised to reduce train fares, which at the time was the only thing that swayed me to vote for them, as it directly effected me. Sure enough train fares actually increased! Fool me once.... In general I do not pay attention to the world of politics and, to an extent, the economy as much I should do. Being completely honest I feel that without a doubt a democratic system is the only way forward however I don't see anything other than an endless cycle of the economy rising and falling periodically and will continue to do so regardless of who is in power. That is ofcorse until 1000 years from now when the Chinese robot xenomorphs that inhabit this planet, as it slowly gets swallowed by the sun, uncovers the Harry Potter books in some cave somewhere and starts a religion based of it (wouldn't be the first time) Gryffindor be praised
