I still check the forums occasionally. The split discord thing is weird, I don't really get why if a retail playlist gets organised in one of the new discord channels then lots of extra people will join whilst if someone hosts a daily playlist in the nodo discord at the same time, almost no one will join.
When Broughy tried to close Nodo the daily playlist was in terminal decline but it was still happening most days.
There are some things that fiveM does better so now that lag seems to be less of an issue there I can understand why people have switched to it. On retail races I miss not being able to see who is behind me or ahead and what the gap is.

nodo was fun, good memories, now its pretty much over. mainly cus people dont care about retail racing as much, not any community split. you wanna race come fivem with the rest of us essentially :shrug:

Think there were a lot of things coming together that put a dent into NoDo PC.
For a lot of people the game became boring and a few prominent creators and hosts left. Ovivo, Iceman, Prutoog, just to name a few.
Brakeboosting became more wide spread, which not everybody was happy with.
R* broke the creator maybe once too often.
Broughy tried to close the crew and when he went away other people like Baron were attacked for taking over, since not everybody knew how little Brough even had to do with this crew the years prior to that incident.
And of course Project Homecoming rose in popularity as well.
Also the racing was pretty atrocious at times so I can't blame people to take their efforts to other platforms where they got more control. But if we count that, daily playlist rainc in GTA isn't dead, it's just being hosted outside of NoDo.

Some of the more invested people who knew he wasn't really running anything pushed back and got him to take his leave after all. But damage was done and some people took this as a hostile takeover from the mod team.

There have been a new age of racing through just the discord, don't see them posting here. So there may be more action than we're letting on but certainly isn't at the level that we saw in the golden (or silver if you will) days.
I'd imagine the real mess started happening when dailies were being hosted on other servers, that was a bit of a weird time. There's nothing wrong with separate communities, but when the official event for a community starts to get hosted on other community servers that's when things get confusing.
Regardless, I am not exactly sure if I can pinpoint what made me stop racing, I still do have a good time with it on the occasion that I do get around to doing races, mostly on FiveM. Maybe just since I have entirely shifted my gaming focus on Overwatch and just don't really feel like playing any other game.
